A electric current triggers the kick down.

Some have a switch under the gas pedal, others on the linkage.

LOKAR of Knoxville TN has a aftermarket kit (about $50...or was)

I got a micro switch from Radio Shack. Made a mount that bolted to carb and added a cam to throttle lever that hit it near full throttle. Very cheep and worked for 20 years so far!

looks like I got the same one as Deuce Roadster,

mount and adjust the switch so it triggers at about 90 percent throttle

run one wire from the switch to the transmission

the brake light switches off earlier motorcycles that had the pull type switch work well at the carb(s) as pictured
