I assume this thing's pressed on? I've tried a little elbo grease with no luck. Thinking next of heating up the surrounding aluminum.
Anyone successfully removed the filler tube on a late model flathead intake?
Thanks,
Mike
just tap it with a hammer forward, back... forward back untill you loosen it up... they fit tight. Once you loosen it a little it'll come out easy.

Loosen it up with a little Liquid Wrench.

Try turning it with a strap wrench while gently tapping it back and forth.

I "warmed" the aluminum with a torch held about 8" away. The aluminum expands very easily. I didn't have a strap wrench and I didn't want to scar the tube. It doesn't take much heat.

Thanks all.
I have Liquid Wrench, a strap wrench, and a torch. Just wanted to make sure I asked before I experimented.
