I am interested in this Fenton Tri-power intake manifold , but the person selling only knows that it was stock on 1955-1956 Chevys. My question to you guys is -

Givin this info, would it fit on a 1958 283?? What should I ask if anything to this seller?? all I can tell from the pics is that its not an inline manifold..

Thanks....

Chevy never offered a "tri-power" three carb manifold on a smallblock as a factory option, but will probably fit.

Know a guy that has cast(steel) tripowers for SBCs. Who made those?? I passed a Fenton package up last year. It is worth twice as much this year....

Said in my best Marisa Tomei voice (which isn't very good), The correct ignition timing is 4 degrees before top dead center. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Stoogie, I'd be willing to bet your friend has a tripower intake for a 348 W block not a small block. The 348 came from the factory with tri-power and the manifolds were cast iron. there were no case iron tripowers for small block v8's. there are a ton of 348 manifolds on Ebay at any given time, I can't believe there were that many sold as I was around when they were new and it was rare to see a tri-power, most 348's had a 4bbl but there were quite a few with 4 spd's

I would take a 283 SBC intake gasket set to look and see if it lined up on the Tri power intake..........could be 348 Chevrolet, early Pontiac or something else........ http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Better safe than sorry.

Not from GM, but that doesn't mean there aren't aftermarket cast-iron 3x2 intakes.

If it has a bolt hole at the top of the divider between the intake ports, and the ports look like they have that inside corner chopped off, then it'd be a 348 intake - if it is indeed a Chevy intake.

Way up at the top the guy says the intake in question is a Fenton. Pretty much confirms it's not a GM factory item.
