I went to look at a 41 Ford panel that my brothers boss is going to "street rod" and wants to sell the driveline off. Some of the questions may be obvious, but I'm a dumbass. The first photo (I hope) is just the truck. Second is the 17" wheel, is that a split rim wheel? There is a mechanical lever on the shifter, what does it do? Is the rear good for anything? Would this have a heavier (useable) trans behind the flathead? Thanks for any info. I'm looking for any junk to use on the roadster project and never ran into one ton stuff before.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/scarybiglarry/MVC-423F.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/scarybiglarry/MVC-417F.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/scarybiglarry/MVC-420F.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/scarybiglarry/MVC-422F.jpg

This truck is a "Standard" as opposed to the better looking 'Commercial'. The tab on the four speed transmission shifter handle is the lockout for reverse. The low gear is a granny low, only used if heavily loaded. Most of the time you would start away in 2nd gear. The 4 speed is much larger than a 3 speed and I feel certain it will hold up to the 350 chevy engine I will be running. Full report later http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif The hubcaps were used from 1938 to 1947. If the transmission has a power take off, I would like to buy it and can supply you with the cover. You can look at the rims and tell if the lock ring is removable--some were not split rings but do have a slot to insert a tool to remove the ring. I have a hood and 2 hubcaps for this truck for sale. The one ton is something you dont see very often.

Thanks manyolcars, I dont think there was a PTO.The guy said the truck was slow, so it must have a 4.11 rear. merc, the 1/2 ton would look like a 40.
