WOW, what can I say?
This was the best Pistons and Paint to date!
I had so much fun in the last couple of days that if I die in my sleep tonight, I'll die a happy man!
The weekend started out Friday night at the bowling alley.
Me and Miss HC got there @ 9:00.
Had a couple of drinks at the bar and before you knew it the Austin and Oklahoma crews started rolling in...
By 11:00 we were in full swing!
By 12:00 we were bowling and drinking our asses off...
It was a serious Texas VS. Oklahoma bowling tounrament...
Sorry to let my Texas brothers down, but Oklahoma won.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
We bowled till' almost 4AM! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Got up Sat morning @ 10AM.
Finally headed out @ 12Noon.
The show was in full swing.
As the day went on, the lot filled up and the fun was everywhere...
The live show started @ 9PM with the Susans.
I have never seen them play so loud and fast, they were on fire and it sounded great!
next up, the Hillbilly Heartthrobs....
I only caught a couple of songs cause I was stuffing my face at the consession stand durring their set.
They sounded great as well...
Then @ 11-ish, yours truely and my brothers in High School Caesar tore shit up!
That was the most fun show that I have EVER played!
Thanks everyone...
After we stumbled offstage, Marti Braum stepped up to the mic and made me pee my pants!
She is on fire!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Eventually we made our way back out to the lanes and by 1AM we had the place to ourselves and were free to do WHATEVER we wanted to do!!!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Let's just say that it got ugly...
Monkey has some great pics of Sat night's bowl-fest!
I am done talking, so here are the pic's!
I am posting oodles of pic's so hold your replies...
thanks-

Ok, Im back at work so I can finally get some rest! Man what a weekend! Thanks to all for supporting this years show! There were so many cool things goin on it was hard to get it all in. In no particular order the Chupacabras would like to thank,
Blazers Bowling Alley...I think weve found a home for the show.
Special Guest Arteests...McPhail,Barnett,Cindy Rashke,Joe Riley,Ken Mitchroney, and Sonya Florez.
Bands…..The Susans, Hillbilly Hearthrobs,my High School Caesar brothers, and espeically Marti Bram (Bubba pledged his devotion and eternal love to her several times this weekend, somehow she was able to resist)
Car Clubs….Kontenintals,Outkasts,Coollows,RoadRockets, Beatniks,Lucky13,Blacktop Brawlers,DeadTown 8,DeadBeats,Them,KillerRidez(are they a club?)and all the H.A.M.B. brothers and Ryan for letting us promote the show . Special thanks to Tyler and wife (they have made everything the club has ever done! Also special thanks to Buzzard and wife for risking unemployment to attend the show! Buzzard, I hope your feeling better. I know your sick of watching golf http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
All the Okies and out of towners that made the trip. (DT8 Rock! And they aint to shabby at bowlin!)
Vendors….There was so much cool stuff, I wanted something from every one of them! Special thanks to Barbersville. (Ive never seen Big Mark stand up that long!)
HankCash….For documenting the event in your unmistakable style ( I probably should have listed you with the guest artist) and also strumming a rockin geetar!
All of the Chups and the prospects that worked their butts off to make it happen. (Bubba missed the club dinner to sound check Marti and I have NEVER seen Bubba pass up a free meal!)
And last but not least Mr. Robert “Hami” Hamilton!! You are truly “the Man with da Plan”!!!
See yall next year!

Geez, I don't even know where to start. What a freakin' great weekend. The car did great and it was a treat to spend a little time with the Misses. I really do love that gal. She hit her head 3 or 4 times on the roof as we went towards the swap meet on Friday and just laughed it off. It was about 8 million degrees in the car and she never complained.
The Friday "Red River Challenge" bowling tournament was retardedly fun. Holy Cow. I don't remember laughing that hard in a long time. Congratulations to Tula for kicking our asses. The highlight had to be Gutter Ass Gutter running down the lane and sliding headfirst into the pins. How we didn't get thrown out, I'll never know.
Saturday rocked. Thanks to all of the Chupacabras for the hard work it takes to put on a show like that. It's just going to keep on getting bigger as the word gets out about this show. The location is great, I hope they have us back next year.
I was very honored to receive the Shawn Howard Award from the Deadtown 8. My car was their club pick. Certainly not because it was the "nicest" or "coolest" car out there. I think that they felt it was the kind of ride that Shawn would have dug. And they liked the idea of the trophy going back to Austin, someplace they said Shawn really liked being. I must say, I never met the man. But with the cool guys that he hung with, and the way they strive to honor his memory, he must have been a helluva guy.
Saturday night at the bowling alley was borderling mahem. The bands put on a great show. Everyone was getting their drink on and smoozin' with the chicks. Speaking of chicks, the Texas girls whooped up on the Tulsa gals in the Red River Rematch. God I was proud of them. Their winning average was 85, by the way. Couple of jello shots involved in that game.
Thanks to everyone who was there that we got to hang out with. Ya'll made one of my very few weekends away from work worth risking losing my job. Everything worked out, so I'll be employed at the Day of the Drags.
I almost got the mentioned giving McPhails son Jesse a ride in the coupe. We took it out for a spin and about halfway it occured to me to unplug the headers. He's 14 or 15 and it was way neat to see his eyes light up when I fired it up. He said something to the effect of "I'm gonna tell my friends about riding in this car". I felt old, but cool. McPail, if you're reading this, I heard several comments this weekend about what a nice, polite, cool guy he is. And I agree.
See ya'll in a couple of weeks. We'll party like it's 1999.

hey guys...thanks for sharing. Lot's of cool tin to see and some girlies which I am ALWAYS in favor of http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I gotta say thanks to Robert 'Hami' Hamilton...he's the guy behind the scenes that really made this show happen. He definitely takes up the slack where needed, and is more organized than anybody I've ever met. I don't know if I told you in person, but thanks for all your hard work.
Gotta also thank the rest of the club for putting together a great show that I think everyone that attended really enjoyed.
I also think the location was great, and I hope that Blazers will have us back again next year.
Thanks to everyone for coming...Looking forward to seeing you all again at the Day of the Drags in a few weeks...

I never even thought of you being from Austin and Shawn's love for that place.
What was important to me was that the award go to a car that I figure he would have liked, and also a car that I like, but most important to me was that the award go to someone I had a chance to meet, just to make sure it didn't wind up with some sorta pecker cheese.
Your cool Hot Rod Gal helped a little also.
A few of us are talking about late modeling it down to DOTD, I used up my last vacation day getting my ass down to P&P though, so we'll have to see what's shakin.
Post a pic of that trophy if you would, when you find a home for it.

Sorry about X'ing out on the cookout. After repairing of Rashy's car, we all wanted to get on the road. At least it happened during the day, so we could repair it.
Great coverage as always,
Reverend Jake

Always nice to not worry about getting my arse handed to me.

Sorry Tracy, I should know better. Norma gets that shit all the time. Forgive me, I know it's your car, I just seem to have forgotten how to type.
Dusty, Norma and I had a great time hangin out and talking over the weekend. Your car looks killer, sounds good to boot. I love the dash! I'm so sad I won't have anyone to hang with in Wichita Falls this year. I guess I'll become even more of a regular at Denny's this year! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
