In a round about way this is actually on topic. If I can get a job local then I won't have to move. If I don't have to move I can keep working on my cars.
Anyway... What the title says. Any pointers?

I used the microsoft one, but its so generic. People must see 1000s of those. I wanted to do something that looked a little different from the rest.

I'm working on mine right now... the library had killer books so I got one on writing the resume, and another on cover letters. I even found a book on writing the proper blue collar resume....

That must mean they program in key generic words for the scanner to look for for for generic job requirements.
Is there any programs, call it a "Resume Thesaurus" maybe that guides one to the "successful words"?
Or I suppose one can just be sure to use all the words in the "The successful candidate will have the following qualifications;" in their resume, (also for some jobs now called a Curriculum Vitae)

Keep it to one page if possible. Don't put any skills, credentials, etc in resume unless they relate to job applied for. Pitching your painting skills, when applying for a job as a chef will earn a trip to the shitcan. Don't use a generic resume. New one tailored for each job. Your first objective is to make the short list.
