 What hot rodding means to me.......... a true blue rodder will find that old rusted piece of twisted metal that's been sit'n under a gum tree for 50+ years and love it as much as the credit card rodder luvs his new fibreglass kit car. not every body can have the tin they dream of. but that old classic that others have passed by has a little piece of history . and needs to be saved . my dream car was not a international coupe Ute but i will never part with it now . my property is slowly becoming an old car grave yard . i have dreams of rebuilding them all ..but that wont happen ..... but who cares ..old cars are cool !!!

G'day U 2. Three Aussies- a hat- trick. .
My nephew has a clean 36 V8 wellside Ute which was owned once by a tractor mechanic from Clifton Q.
His Dad has a '41 Caddy V8 in 'Mary- Lou', the first speedboat in Mt. Gambier. Has a photo of it in the '40's with 4 skiers behind it. Mahogany hull.
G day HA/GR- Still no drag strip operating in Adelaide.

Wack-'o' mate- I'm in Salisbury.
Your project sounds like a cool thing. You were gonna put an 8BA in it ? In the late seventies I went to a barby in Terowie. Some local lads rocked up in an early seventies F100 with a Y- Block in it- someone else was there in a custom FJ with a 273 Valiant shoehorned in it.Seventies Aussie rods- dig it.
Is the Darwin thing that long cruise ?

Welcome aboard! Love them Utes!
G'day GTNRKIX,
Ya gotta get down under if utes light your wick. Bloke called Lew Bandt designed &built the first of the classic ute style as a product for Ford Australia at thier plant in Geelong in 1933 on a V8 deluxe car chassis. Since then the big three (old big three )have done them here- Ford & Holden (G.M) still do 'em.
My personal favorite is the beautiful and rare '48 Mercury in mid- grey from Albury Street Rodders on the New South Wales border. Look...
