View Full Version : I DROVE IT around my hood... chopped sedan update.
Keep in mind that this car had no motor/tranny or any of the odds and ends last sunday. I drove it last night... and again today.
I had to find all the right springs for the clutch pedal, break pedal, gas pedal... that kinda stuff.... Shift rods, motor mounts, tranny mount... driveshaft... on and on.
got the motor in, and exhaust from REDS, the headers, smithys and pipe... and I already lost a hanger, I was in such a rush to try it out... haha- ill find it.
It runs GREAT its a 53 EAB flatty mated to the standard 3 speed and 3:73 gear rear... no Overdrive in this shoe.
I did some horse tradeing with TOKYO for his old offy tri power setup and gen bracket, so its got some go daddy under the hood...
I think its gonna RULE, I got obsessed with finding all the parts for this car this week... and was on a total MISSION to get it under its own power.
I've been driveing around the "block" so to speak sitting on a milk crate, I cant wait to get the jungle jim cut out of the car.

This one's your Grampa's old car, right? Great thrash! I washed mine in the time it took you to stab a motor/trans. Wassup with that?
What are you gonna do for paint/interior?

Paint? I'm lame with paint... I paint everyone elses stuff crazy then when it comes to me... I like em straght tripple black.
I was thinking get it naked and spray it in fresh primer... then a crazy kandy flame job and drive it and have FUN... Scare people...
-i havent driven this car for 9 years... the title is still in my "moms" name haha- cuzz i got it when I was 15 and apparently never transfered it into my name, I think I was on her insurance untill I was 19...
I think I "learned" enough now I can do it the way I wanted to back then, I just couldnt afford it carrying out grocries and going to high school. Once I tore it apart I thought it would NEVER go back together.
I feel like im battleing those personal DEMONS and killing them with a switchblade.

Looking good, moving fast once you got started,I hope I can get my momentem moving again.
i got some kind of HOT ROD injection when i was at bleeds shop building my roadster... fer real, it all "feels" good again...
I'm gonna run 16" steelies and beauty rings (have em) or 15" rims w/ some ruler caps... and im gonna run dearched springs in the back so it sits a little lower like my 50 club... Stock '49 grill...
I'll bolt the inner fenders on next and then the outer fenders...
I posted my "rendering" in my last thread... the headlight rings are 56 olds, im gonna graft them on the fronts of the shoe fenders.

Some angle iron, a trailer hitch, and a welder. Flat tow the roadster back.
It'd rock to see your 'box there.
