I finally got to drive my ragtop wiht with the fresh Merc flathead in it and man is it nice http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. It took us a while to get the MSD dissy all sorted out but now that it's tuned right is ever fun. When I got the car it had the a tired Ford flathead with truck heads on it no less. It was a real slug http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif So we took a Merc block and crank and added all the go fast goodies and was it ever worth it. Who needs a SBC anyway http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I like the convertible... I was after the flatty pics when I saw the 32.

Alec,
That 32 is owned by a guy in Wisconsin now and shows up at most of the GGs events in this area. It is still my favorite car.

Hey Rich, anytime you wanna run 'em, I'll show ya that YOU need a SBC! (Even with my "little" motor!) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Glad to hear you got it running right... You gonna have it at Donnies cruise tonight?

I don't know what it was about that car, I just like the way it looked. I think it was a combination of how clean and basic the paint was, yet it still stands out. Does that make sense? The only thing I didn't like was the SBC because they seem to find their way into all the bad ass Fords. I understand why, just don't like it. However, I liked how it was old school w/ the trips etc. I only wish Ford could've come out with a decent powered SB around the same time.

Alec.

HRTH,
No it won't be in Midland this weekend. The old wiring is already torn out so we can put a Painless kit in it. I'll be in Midland Saturday with the c-dan though. Are you gonna be there Saturday?

Hey Rich, that's a nice ride. I don't think I'd ever have that top up.

Wow, what a car. And I bet you run a electric fuel pump.

Yea, he runs an electric pump. I wanted to put in a hand pump on the dash when I put the motor in so he could pretend he was at Bonneville or the drags but the man has no sense of adventure. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
