Does anyone have any info on chopping a 53 Buick, like pics or how you did it. Thanks

Find someone who has all the old Rod & Custom mags. There was a complete how to about 10 years ago when someone was going to reproduce the Blue Danube custom '53 Buick. I have that issue somewhere in my mag collection but it might take a week to find. That chop was on a hardtop but would be a good guide.
That would help a lot, I am not going to chop it for at least a couple of months.

I have that same article Armstrong is talking about, which I used to chop my 53 Olds (4 door though), but if Armstrong can't find it I will look for it also. From experience the only thing you may have to work on or compensate for is whether you will be using the stock rear glass or not, if you are, you will have to figure out what to do when you drop the lid and have a large gap between the body and the glass. Does that make sense?

The article i think you mean was published in a swedish mag spring -96, should be around that time in that mag too i think, it was david Guymon who chopped a -53 roadmaster 2dr ht for Lars Hellgren, the car is named Blue Bayou, maby that helps finding it...Nice car, i have a -53 special Riviera...

Not sure if you want to go this route, but if you want to avoid sinking the rear window I've got a '49 Ford rear window surround, glass and trim that would work well...similar to what Dat Dirty Rat did with his Chevy. PM me if you're interested in it...I'm trying to sell off some stuff before Fall Carlisle so I have a few bucks to spend. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I chopped the top on the "BLUE DANUBE"-clone for Jack Walker.....it was three inches straight thru/backlite was moved up and forwards two inches....altho it was a hardtop it would be similar in detail.
