Hi. Some new stuff. The Slanterion, 225 Slant Six. Will make a new one of it...and better! Gasser, 1960 Valiant wagon. Years since i saw one and i had only bad reference pictures. The last one, 1957/8 Plymouth custom...and forgotten...

Thanks Acrochicken i made it home safe and sound:)

A very blessed trip it was!

We'll, the Kustom Kulture art show was a huge success for myself as well as for Nash!
Lots of artwork got sold and the art auction was awesome, some great pieces brought in sound good funds. Here's one i collaborated on with Japanese pinstripers: GRIMB, MAKOTO and MR. G ...it was my very first time painting with one shot and boy was it messy and very hard to do, but in the end the piece turned out pretty sweet.

keep them drawings coming Eyebone, they are great!
Cheers,

Eyebone...I kind of thought you had to be the same Eyebone from the Rat Fink Reunions in the Bay Area. Didn't think that there'd be two folks out there claiming a name like that. Don't really know if you remember, but I'm the guy that did the "Autograph" signs that all the stripers signed and were then raffled off at every Bay Area R.F.R. Really glad to see you and Von Franco still kicking around.

Here's the one from '99. And lookee...there's your sig.

Hey, Its been a while! My shop & pole building took on 6 inches of water on in the storms on the 5th of August. Ive been working as a house painter & trying to regroup, getting the spoiled jobs that were on the floor refilled. Here is one of the 1st new ones since the clean up. 6 spot colors on a white T.

I know this might be a bit of an different project, but, as I was out in my shop I stumbled up on my dad's old tool box. It had my thinking about him, this month marks 10 years since he has past away. He was the one responsible for getting me into this hobby I love some much. Then I had a sudden brainstorm of an idea in memory of him. I opened the box and put in 2 pictures that I have of him and some of the hot rods he has built. One was a 1949 chevy truck, which was a traditional rod more or less, for him it was build a truck, cheap. I loved that truck and today someone else owns it and is drag racing it. The other is a 1940 ford 2 dr sedan he had in the 60's. Very fast hot rod from what I was told form those who remembered. I also included a 57 chevy yellow, because he had one (waiting on picture of that). Below is a picture of him and I working on the studebaker truck that i still have and he gave it to me when i was 8 or 9 years old. The picture frame talks about not only him being my father, but a role model, a teacher,a best friend, and someone who taught me how to have a relationship with the Lord and still live life. Just wish he could have been around to see this new traditional rod scene, because he would've loved it, like I do. I hope to add more to it, and maybe paint and pin stripe the outside of the tool box later.

Oh, I also inlcude a pair of his glasses from the 60's, those are not Toad's from American Graffiti. Also a 49' chevy truck horn button.

I finally got the time to sit down and really look over this week’s show. So far I like every thing! There is a lot of talent on this board!

Thanks for all the complements on my art this week guy’s, I’m happy with how it came out, I don’t want to jinx it, but I think I’m finally coming out of the longest artistic slump of my life. It lasted so long I was contemplating hanging up my pencil for good & just playing music for the rest of my life. But suddenly the fog lifted & I’m workin’ on a bunch of new stuff! Lesson re-learned, "Never give up!"

To my long time friends Von Franco & Mikes51Thanks! I’m always looking forward to seeing your art too!

Franco, you’re a monster on that Wacom Tablet, Guy! The thing that’s cool is it has the same exact awesome feel as your hand done art! That monster in the "T" got a good laugh out of me!

I know I'll probably embarrass Mike (Mikes51); but I think it's very safe to say he's the first Hot Rod/Custom Car Artist to do our type of art in 3d, Did it way before drag and drop 3d programs. To put a date on it, he was selling his 3d stuff at the Labor Day West Coast Customs shows when they held were in Los Bannos! In my opinion, he deserves to be recognized for that groundbreaking vision!

Sage, I remember you! Dig your work too! I had a kick @ those parties too!
Acrochicken, Like I said "Cool Photo’s!"
oddrodgarage Thanks!
Ger, I’m sure glad you’re postin’ your stuff here, I dig it!
Cab, Glad you had a good trip! Panel Jammin’ is a kick huh?
Kustomlinez, I like your stuff!
Pacheco, "Nice 3 window! Your best piece yet!
Busted lifter, Another great seat!
Janne, I hope every car you’ve ever designed gets built! You and Weezner!
Jersyboy, simple but effective, I like! Eat A Peach? As in Rice Millers ("Sonny Boy" #2) words, "Ain’t but one way out!"
Squindo, you’re still one of the most original guy’s out there today!
Clydsdale, What’s that smell? LOL Cool!
Nickscarlet, So would I!
A 32 Flathead Gotta love that one!
Ewt, "I’m not worthy! Killer photo-realism, man!
BigNick 1959, I’ve done just enough airbrushing on metal to really appreciate how nerve-racking that is! Cool!
Toddj, Always dig your art!
Dirt Diggler, Wow!

Relax guy’s, it’s not going to my head! LOL

here's a vest I bought on ebay for my wife. cut it all to hell and added some artwork. It's called the "Ace Of Spades" Alligator Spade background w/ Stingray Inlayed Eyes and a Snakeskin Hatband w/ an Ace of Spades Palying card in it. On the front I made a 3-d Scorpion out of Burgundy Gator...
Still workin on a bit more artwork and building a liner out of exotic Asian Dragon Silk.

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND all. Be in Dallas on Saturday for the THEM invasion.

Thats a real nice tribute to your Dad...when my Dad passed away almost 3 years ago, I went back home to the UK and following the funeral, I went & sat in my Dad's garage to reflect on things, just some alone time....I got to looking through his stuff & found his old Stanley tape measure, all battered & dirty...but his...you know what I mean?

It sits now on top of our TV along with a picture of him & me. He's never far from my thought's.

fac·et
noun
1: a small plane surface (as on a cut gem)

That's how Webster's defines it.

I wanted to do a hot rod which had a minimum of curves.
The major design elements are made up out of octagons,
parallelograms, trapezoids and squares.
Although I could have carried it to the extreme
it might have looked more like a door stop
than a car. Something Lance Reventlow might have driven.

So here you have it; the faceted roadster.

Real men post art on Fridays! yikes.

I wish that I could draw/paint or take pictures as good as the ones here. Some won't consider this art, but I consider them kind of like miniature sculptures.

I customized a couple more 64th scale die cast cars to add to my Hollywood Knights set and started a Gumball Rally set. Now if I could just find the damn Mercedes 300SL Roadster the old guys drove! As soon as I go through the rest of my boxes and find the other cars: the Porsche, the Police car and the Ferrari I'll add them to the Gumball set.

Hello,
I would like to ask a favor of the HAMB art group.
The HAMB Banger group has been tossing around a T shirt project. Our idea for the shirt is below.
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll122/Crazydaddyo/BangerShirt3.jpg?t=1218584129
This image and text on the back, and the HAMB logo on the front left breast.

Ryan has given us permission for this and he will produce the shirt for us.

We would like your opinion on this concept and if it could be improved, how would you do it?

I would like to keep it simple - I.E. easy to print. I would like to keep it in the 30's style period. Maybe Art Deco

Two colors max. Red is one.
Shirt color will be white.

Thanks for your help. All input would be appreciated.

Awesome work as always folks. I'm in awe.

I thought I'd throw this one into the mix simply because it isn't the sort of stuff I do on a daily basis.

What it is and what it's for...
A pair of digital prints done on reflectorized vinyl and then hand cut by me.. A local drag club got the idea to do up a police car for kids to race at the strip (gets driven by a rotating collection of real officers and it really was a used P.D. car). Sort of a "see if you can beat a cop car" deal. Has lights that work (by law they need to be removable) and a si-reeeen!

Anyway, all done in Photoshop. Lots 'n' lots o' layers! Original design size was 36" square @ 300dpi, finished size is a little over 21" square. Started with a pencil sketch, scanned into PS and then refined. The shield on the door in the drawing has the shield on the door, which has the shield on the door...

Don't know how well this is gonna look since I had to compress it so much but I'll give it a try. If it ends up looking like crap I'll see if I can't post some close-ups.

Thanks Bill! This shot is a little closer. I spent way too much time on it. I need to learn more shortcuts.

Since I didn't know about the new rule regarding Fridays art show, I'm just going to post the same up again. It does make sense- after all, it is Friday!
The first is a tee I did for myself, the 2nd is for a shop in NJ and the 3rd is a painting.

Now I'm off to the Hoedown- if anyone is in the area....stop by!

I'm really digging the Surf Shop tee. Any way a guy could get one?
