If anyone is close to there, looks like some decent cars, and decent prices..

Man, that's like the 8th old car yard I've known of closing it's doors in the last year. We're losing 'em, folks.

Hey Zman,

You need any more parts for yours?

I need to hunt a bracket to move the combination valve on the '47 and would be up for a roadtrip. No telling what other treasures await. It's not clear whether the yard will be closed for good, or just change hands? Although Richards is in "rural" NC, Randolph county is growing, so there might be pressure to shut the operation down.

That sucks. Only a couple of months ago, the one about 11.3 miles up the road from them closed (Bingham's), and now Richard's. Wonder what happened? He seemed to be making a shitload of money every time I went there.

the powers that be have been on both of them real bad for a few years now. thats why richards prices have been even higher than what they used to be. if he knows you he will give you a decent price most of the time. bingham was letting stuff go at decent rates towards the end cause he knew he was gonna crush a bunch and what little parts were pulled wouldn't make that big a difference in the end. if the whole thing does get sold it'll be the same story and prices will hurt for the most part. a lot of the stuff there was pretty picked over anyhow. still sucks to see it go. that was a fairly regualar spot for me...ken....
