Might have found a really cheap rebuilt 302 block, but it is a later 302. Does anybody here know if the bolt patterns are the same for the c4 transmission and bellhousing?
Thanks,

Be careful. There are at least 2 different bolt patterns and flywheels.

True enough, but shouldn't be a big challenge in this situation.
Odd bolt pattern is only for VERY early SBF & pre-C4, so no worries. (anything newer than 66 is not in danger - 5-bolts vs 6-bolts for newer)
Flywheels are not a big deal either - pre/post '77 - all SBF flexplates interchange, so be sure to get one that matches the year group (pre/post '77). They're identified in parts books by imbalance factor - there are two: 28oz & 50oz imbalance - you want the 50oz imabalance for the post '77 engine.
Bottom Line: Yes it will work!

Thanks guys. I have that 302 I'm working on--and now I lucked into something that just needs bolt on parts to be complete. (if I decide to get it) So since I have a complete older 302 that needs some work, I could just swipe the parts from there and put them on the fresh 302 and probably be about even after factoring in the cost of machining and new pistons/bearings.
Thanks for the info, it helps a lot.
