What's up everyone, my name's Bill and I've got a 55 Chevy 210 2 door sedan. I've been lurking around on the site for a while now, checking out some of the beautiful machines and I figured I'd just go ahead and sign up. I'm from Fair Hill, Maryland, which is in the northeast tip of the state. I'm not any kind of builder or anything like that, but I do all my own work on my 55 and it's MY car. I don't really have any fabrication talents, but just enough mechanical skill to keep my box on the road. I'd like to learn some stuff to be able to one day actually fabricate my own ideas, but I'm just working and trying to keep the bills paid for the time being. I'm always willing to listen to guys that know their stuff and I pretty much just try to do the best I can with what I can afford, you know?
So anyway, I'll try to not say anything too stupid and not piss anybody off too bad!! :)

Thanks fellas!!
The stance was acheived with 2" drop spindles on the front and air shocks on the back. Low buck, but it works for now.

Haha, tell me about it. State tax? Sales tax? LOCAL tax?!? :D

I work in Delaware and I'll say this: At least in Maryland we can see where our tax dollars go.
Thanks for the welcome!!

Howdy! Welcome from Western MD!
Love those 55's.You're a lucky man!

I like how the "powers that be" toss out the "Free State" moniker til taxes come into play, then its the "Old Line State?"

I've noticed that, lol.

Thanks for the welcome, I feel pretty fortunate to have my car, even with all it's imperfections. I call it character!! :)
At just 30, I feel pretty fortunate overall. I have my ride, my home, my wife, a decent job and a few good friends, that's all I need. I try to remember that every time I get bummed out about something. I'd rather be fighting with rusty old junk than to not have any rusty old junk at all!!

Wait.....let me get this straight. Are you calling your wife "rusty old junk" or your car?

Hahahahahaha, I didn't even see that.

My car. :D It's all been "Remove rusty old junk, replace with slightly less rusty newer junk, repeat."

But I kid, it's in decent enough shape, I haven't fallen through the floors or anything yet, but it's a little rough underneath. I'm getting her there (the car). :p The body and frame are pretty solid, but the floors and floor supports need to be replaced. They're all there, but they have more patches than I'd like. She's a great driver quality car and I have no intention of ever making her more than a driver, but I want to know she's right.
I don't have a bunch of money to throw at it, so I just do what I can to keep her going until I have the time and space to do it up proper.
