Observations about the FNG's

I have noticed a lot of hostility with a few of FNG's,,,

Not all the nubies are like this and most of them take the time to read the rules,,yeah, there are rules!

Most will post a intro,,,that is why there is a place dedicated for that purpose but then you got mr. badass,,,he don't need no stinkin' rules,,and he don't post intros.

I really don't think mr. badass( made up name,,I think:rolleyes:) doesn't have a clue as to what the Hamb is all about,,,they sign up and kick in the door with questions,,,sometimes without any thought and if someone tries to tell them something they go for the throat.:confused:

I'm really not interested in his( insert what ever in this black) because most of the time it doesn't fit in here on the hamb.

What is there to get? It`s on online forum just like the rest of them. Not everybody is gonna fit in here, just like some of the HAMBer`s wont fit in on the other forums. And then again , some folks just like to cause trouble, it happens, get over it. JMO

Any Mr. Badass that comes on here has basically nothing in common with what's going on here. They post either dumb questions or stupid comments are start crap with anybody that even tries to set them straight as to what the H.A.M.B. is all about. If they can't be bothered to at least snoop around here alittle or read the rules before they post, then they should just go away and go somewhere else where somebody might give a shit what they think or have to say about anything including that nasty term of R-- rod that nobody here will talk about

Mr Badass is on every board at one time or another.
Eventually he posts a revealing reply so all can see his true nature.
I still get PMs from guys who haven't even posted to the board yet who want something.
I usually try to help them out and guide them to the Intro forum.
Some get it, some don't...all we can do is watch and perhaps guide them in the right direction.
If you feel the need for some smart ass remark, think it over.
Some of the guys (Girls) on here have a friendly banter that goes on.
We expect that from the GMB's and the SFCC.
Some might not understand the relationship these guys have and assume that we just talk shit all day long.

I've been a member for awhile yet my post count is shit compared to some of the blow-hards here.... most of which is helpfull... but let's be honest there is a lot of BULLSHIT on this board.

Then I read shit like this, talking about stupid questions? I'm sorry, but maybe in between the time some of you old farts were in school and I was in school I was taught manners, compassion and a little thing like "there are no stupid questions"

I'm a FNG... again. Re-joined after lurking for a long time, didn't have my old login info. I re-read the rules, posted my intro, etc. Jumped into a few threads and was flamed in one.

I get the HAMB. I get traditional rodding. I get preserving American hotrodding as we know it / remember it. I also get that every one of our cars is an extension of our personality, in most cases is our dream possession, and respect that enough not to berate anyone for their choices.

Still, I too stooped to that level and brought down the board. Being a FNG or not, I don't believe that gives anyone a right to blast away at what someone may consider an ignorant question or suggestion. A little respect goes a LOOOOOONG way.

I guess chain drive wallets and SBCs don't mix now. If these guys were around when SBCs were THE engine to have they probably would feel differently. They don't have a clue what the 50s/60s were really like.

Damn great reasoning 1LOWCHIEF! This FREE internet you referred to comes with a price. While you were listening to your teacher's lesson about "no stupid questions" you missed the "no free lunches" lesson. Useless questions take up bandwidth that this forum owner is paying for, how about take some initiative, do a search, buy a manual, be specific about your question, show that you have done some homework. I'm guessing you are young enough to be one of entitlement generation. Where I am from no one is entitled to anything and respect is earned.

I can't stand the guys that post only in the for sale section. They have never contributed to the board and use it as a car lot. If I'm interested in anything for sale, I check the threads they started. If it's only "for sale", I pass. Another forum I belong to, "vaporizes" these guys.

Yeah as a card carrying old guy, I have to agree. It is a function of age mostly. Some how along the way young people think that they have to put up a bad ass front in order to get attention and command some misguided ideal of what respect is. If you can shout the other guy down then they think they win.

This may be a free forum if you don't care to contribute but it is the property of Ryan and he sets the rules as he sees fit. I try to abide by those rules. It's his house.
