replacing wood with metal??

I know alot of guys replace interior wood with steel tube, what about the wood that goes between the body and the frame?? Does most everyone still use wood for that?? I am thinking in terms of my model A coupe...

Pressure treated plywood from Home Depot.

One day, I will replace it with steel.

Why replace it with steel? Wood has excellent properties in sound deadening and vibration control. Many of the model As we build use stock wood body blocks with Vintiques Body to Frame webbing. If I changed from that combo it would be ONLY to replace the wood block with a plastic/rubber combo. The stuff that C9 uses comes to mind.
