Yeah I'll probably be there Friday too. Need to find a fender for the New Yorker, and a gas sending unit.

I'll probably go but haven't decided which day yet. It all depends on work, which means it will be a last-minute decision.

The Hershey AACA meet is probably one of the biggest swap meets ever...
It is held at Hershey Park on their parking lots and fields. This year it is October 6-9.

All in all, if you can only go to one meet, Hershey is it. Though I'll be going to Carlisle and lightly perusing for parts. Its Hershey were it means business, and I'm putting my focus on. Plus Hershey is more fun. I have some good footage of two Olds Curvefronts drag racing (and at least one of them was original and not repop), and you'll probably see a Stanley Steamer.

I am definitely going to Hershey, but probably not until Saturday. All the cool stuff will be gone, but I'd like my galpal to be able to join me, and some people are slaves to Mon-Fri jobs. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I like Hershey because:
a. it's huge
b. you could spend $400,000 on a single car in the car corral if you have the money
c. the silly, but charming, chocolate tour

Ham and cheese sandwich and macadamia nut cookies at Carlisle. Smitties chicken and fries and roasted almonds at Hershey. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hershey--almost all early car parts, both stuff Hambers want and stuff so exotic and alien we can only gape at it in awe--the factory display demonstrator of a Knight sleeve valve engine (turn the handle--what happens is as simple and easy to figure out as a microchip from Mars), cars driving around flying banners celebrating their hundredth birthdays (!), Deusies and Hissos worth more than your whole damn suburb, lunatics asking at every booth for a Stevens-Duryea hub cap, and a flea market containing every single damn physical object that anyone on this board has ever searched for. Also, people who can tell you anything from the working pressure in the secondary cylinder of a Doble steamer to the best way to set up an Isky 404. Carlsle--better food selection, 15 miles of Mustang hubcaps and T-shirts, and a few good early parts people here and there. Also 10,000 people arguing over whether the racing stripe on a 68 Cutlass should wrap around the door edge or not.
A favorite Hershey memory from a rainfest 20 years ago--a man with 3 open Duesenbergs (several million bucks even back then) in his fleamarket booth, parked up to their axles in mud. Owner sitting happily on a running board eating sardines out of a rain-filled can, happy as a clam.
Another: Crusty elderly type in overalls points at an incredible classic dashboard lying on the ground: "How Much?". Other codger: "Five". First codger peels fifty hundred dollar bills from roll the size of a flathead starter, forks it over, and stomps away with the dash under his arm.

Cool stories Bruce. I'll GO PAST Carlisle on my way to Hershey the following Tuesday. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'm camping there for the duration of the week. Might take some stuff to sell to the Friday and Saturday guys.
