I got some more project/parts cars this past month. I must have the world's best wife. She just laughs, shakes her head, and wonders when I will have time to do anything. I think going to Goodguys together in Des Moines was good for us. What a gal!

1st picture is a 41 Ford Sedan I got from FORDY 6 - Yes, there is snow on the ground - that is when the picture was taken

Does she have a car?? If not, one of those 56's may make a nice 'thank-you for who you are!' type of gift.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice to have an understanding Lady I would imagine http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Dig the 56 Chevys...and those colors are Laurel Green and Crocus Yellow if you wanted to know(I'm almost positive)(im a 5-6-7 freak)...they are relatively uncommon with so many people painting theirs red and turquiose... Keep the colors! and GL with all the cool projects!

I usta have a neighbor with that very color combo on his 56, 210 series 4 door hardtop! Not only that but it came with a 265 powerpack, 3 speed stick. Weird car.

Once I get the cars home and cleaned up a little, I will evaluate each one. The 56 more door will probably go on ebay. I really like 56's better than 55's or 57's so I may hang on to the 2 door - do we really need more red Chevys? Good or bad frames could make a differnce on plans.
I think the 41 should get a late model lwb Ranger frame - seems the wheelbases are the same. Not wild about the twin i-beam though.
My wife drives a 92 Mustang convertible that I surprised her with for our 30 wedding anniversary last year - got her vanity plates that say "SUZPONY" this year. She really gets a kick out of the kid's faces when an "older lady" climbs out of it.

That color combination on the 56 was not uncommon back when. I remember several of them running around. I'm not much on gteen but I would keep the scheme too becuase it has all but disappeared.

I too am one of the guys with a understanding Mrs.,,,,,,She loves cars as much as I do! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am in the finish stage of the new shop and ready to move her wagon in and outta of the blue here comes the 32 truck,,,good price and I had already promised that the wagon was next and nothing else would be built before I finished it!,,,,,,,,,,,

She has wanted and waited for the wagon for close to 25 years,,,,,,,,,and she said,"Go get the truck if ya want it" ,,,gotta make myself let the truck sit!

But I did pick up a few parts at Piegon Forge this past weekend! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifHRP

[/ QUOTE ]Get a '98+ Ranger chassis. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif No more I-beams. Easy to lower as well.

Makes me happy to hear that at least some of you guys have understanding wives, even if they aren't bitten by the bug.

I still don't quite get the women who marry car guys thinking that you will tire of your 'little hobby' and it will go away. Silly wenches, they need to get over it and learn how to weld or something. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great cars, by the way. Hope to see progress pics as you work on them.

This car, I discovered, has a Mustang II front with rack and pinion and a late rear with leaf springs. Now, if I can just find the time to work on these!
