I was driving my modified the other day and an older guy comes up to me in the parking lot asking about my engine, thinking it was a 235. It's not, it is a Ford 215.

Anyway, he tells me he has original Fenton manifolds for a 216/235. Would sell them. Doesn't know how much. Am I correct that Fentons for a 235 are being reproduced? So that makes his not as rare or valuable? Any ideas on what I should offer if I get them? I would only get them to turn them over to another HAMB'er or friend. Thanks for any help and advice. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Speedway has them for 250.00. They still are a wanted item. I have 2 sets, one is NOS. When I got them they were wrapped in 1962 newspaper.

Fentons are being reproduced. However, I have a couple of sets of originals, and some are marked something like "Chev. 41-48 All". I have heard that this is due to different clearances (for steering, motor mounts, etc.) on different Chevy models. I have also heard that the repros are "one size fits all" and "may need some grinding for your application".

If the guy has the original heat plate that attaches to the intake, I'd grab the set, since they're not repopping that part.

The originals are better castings than the repros. better cast iron, etc.Would probably fetch $200-$250 on E-Pay if they're in real nice shape.

Yeah forgot to add like dago said,on the one's marked 41-48 the front header exits straight down since the stock manifold on those years 216's exits straight down. The post 48's have the front header exiting at an angle towards the rear. They'll all fit any motor though.

not quite. 235s have larger exhaust ports, so the 216 headers would have to be widen a bit, but that sould be easy to do.

Not to be rude but if you do get them, let me know I could use a pair. I bought a pair from JK and they broke in spipping, not JK fault. Thanks Danny
