I dont have any pics but Shades of the Past was lame. The cops in Pigeon Forge are DICKS. I live in Knoxville and will not be going back. Tickets for car wheels on the grass or over painted lines were just two of the bullshit violations I saw. It used to be so laid back. I dont know if they are trying to drive out the hot rodders or what.

They drove out the minitruckers a couple years ago. I guess it is the hot rodders turn now.

Few of us local guys also drove over, cop stopped the guy I work with (pic T-bucket) and asked him if he was dumb as hell for driving around with open headers http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif,but did let him go because he said he liked his hat!
We tried getting into the Shades show but the guy stopped us at the gate and said we had no cuffs on our jeans and he might let us in if I was to wear my wife's gold chain while insidehttp://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
Overall pretty good time! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've got some good K-zoo pics, but it'll be a bit before I get them on the computer.

I'll cover whatever gaps 38pickup leaves.

It was good to see everybody! (though I realize I didn't see everybody)

Here's a few shots to begin with.

My GF and I have wanted a '49-'55 Nash pretty badly for a while now... so what do we find in the parking lot?

I've always liked the fastback postwar Tudors.

This was hard to get a shot of because people kept swarming around the primer gray '46 Chevy pickup next door.

A bitchin' early-sixties style Mopar (all Mopar, too!) and the Jesse James/Autozone Special outside the RRT tent.

Subtle '39 Chevy.

That's it for now. The rest are taken with my girlfriend's disposable camera, because I left my digital at her apartment when we went home for lunch.

I'll resize them and stick them up after class.

Sadly, a bunch of those pics aren’t working and neither is the picture site. Maybe it’ll work later. Here’s what I can see, anyway:

Blue Model A Coupe – Cool car, but I hate six carb setups where only two aren’t blocked off. Either run the whole damn thing, or dress up something that you can tune, I say.

Black ’32-’34 truck – Nifty vehicle, I don’t remember seeing that one, he must’ve been out cruising when we hit the back lot. Is that a Nailhead?

Flamed ’39 Deluxe Tudor – I love the ’39 Deluxe, those headlights are so much cooler than the ’40 units IMO. That Bob McCoy look is my favorite on those cars. What I really want is a ’40 Plymouth two door done that way.

White ’40 Deluxe Coupe – Cool, very understated. What do you want to bet it’s hiding some sort of thumping big block. 410 Marauder, perhaps? Again, I didn’t see that one as I recall. I’m even sort of digging the nerf bar, though I usually prefer bumpers on these cars.

Black Deuce Tudor tub – Neat, clean, but the headers look a bit “crate motor” to me. I don’t remember seeing it.

’48-’55 Chevy Truck – I’m not into that “resting on the frame” look. Airbags are for semis. It would look cool with a bit more altitude though.

Purple & Flamed ’47-’48 Convertible – I like the paint colors but the flames are geeky. This one was clearly a reformed street rod. With a few more trad ques, it could be perfect.

Edit: The rest showed up when I clicked "refresh" a couple times. Very nice photography. I'm resizing the rest of mine now.

The W-motor is cool, but this needs chromies or something...

Some details on this one (street rod interior, funky trunk thing) were crummy, but this shot should be what comes to mind when someone says "hot rod sedan." I loved it.

Another McCoy-ish '40. I liked everything but the flame job.

That purple Coupe was for sale at the Dearborn swapmeet. I really had to fight the urge to ask how much... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great pix guys.
