i picked up a 48 chevy parts truck to transplant the cab onto my 52 chassis. (48 is in better shape etc). the 48 has the shiny stainless steel trim around the windshield and door glasses but not on the rear window and cab corner windows. i see the rear window gaskets advertised as "with or without" chrome beading.
anyway my question is, where can i get the chrome trim for the rear window and corner windows ? none of my catalogs seem to list it. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I don't believe you can get it. Yes you can buy the chrome beading but I haven't seen any with the chrome trim at the rear. You could consider making your own. Here's a pic of mine.

have you tried Jim Carter's? when I bought the rear window rubber for my 41 it came with chrome trim. its not metal but some kind of plastic.

well, according to them (and it looks like they know what they're talking about) the chrome beading on the back windows was never a factory option. but you can buy the window gaskets with the chrome beading as a set as an aftermarket item. basicly the chrome plastic beading just replaces the stock black plastic beading.
btw, that site has a lot of good info. thanks http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
