Hi:
Guess you could call me a pre-babyboomer (aka Old F__t) who's living the dream. While innocently surfing the Net one day, I came across an ad for a '40 Ford Tudor Standard Sedan. It looked nearly identical to one my family had when I was growing up in MN in the 40's and 50's, and next thing I knew I'd hopped a plane to TX and bought it. Had it shipped back to SC where I now live, and hopefully we will both enjoy our golden years together, along with one tolerant and slightly-amused wife.
The car has been professionally restored to pretty-much original condition, although a lot of Deluxe trim was used instead of the Standard. What couldn't be replaced was rebuilt. It still has the original flatty, which has been beefed up a little with Offy heads, Offy intake manifold, Holley 4bbl carb, and dual exhausts. Has a nice 50's carguy sound, and is a blast to drive.
Am a member of several other forums, including Fordbarn and Early V-8, but this one seems to have a personality all its own. Have even learned a few new words that I never heard during 4 years in the Army!
In any event, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
