Tried last night but I imagine most were sleeping or. Not much response, so now that the sun is high.. The stroked 327 in my 64 impala is ready for a new carb on top of a Holley street dominator intake rated for idle to 7200. Thinking about a Road Demon carb. There's got to be better than the usual last 20 years. Live at a high altitude and will drive the car at both sea level and 12000 ft. Trying to get trouble free, easy to adjust, easy to rejet down for altitude... Road Demon looks great but does it work?
Thanks!

I appreciate that. You see so many fuel injected harleys and twins going to back to newer carbs that idle slower and respond better than fuel injection, that after almost going to Holley's dominator fuel injection, I thought I'd see if these Road Demon Carbs would do the trick. I hope to get some more thoughts on this... Anyone else out there? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I sell both. We sell 100 to 1 Holley vs Barry Grant. I personally run a BG carb on my carb... mainly because of its cleaner looks.
Most shops I sell to (pro engine builder as well as speed shops) call the BG carbs "overglorified Holleys."
MOst of the internals swap between the Holley and BG stuff. Tuning is basically the same.
If you want to spend the money on the BG, do it.

Thanks,
The Road Demon looks much better and supposedly some have had better performance with it. Anything else out there? Again, with all the new carbs replacing good fuel injection on Harleys, I can't help but think the fuel injection is not necessary even though I like the concept for a car I will depned on to ake us alot of trouble free miles.
Thanks

I personally like the Road Demons, it's like having a Holley that Barry Grant built for a lot less than you would have paid 10 years ago.
As for the removing the Fuel Injection from Harleys and putting a carb on, did it at the last bike shop I worked at. I feel it's because a lot of people are still scared of fuel injection and/or don't know how to deal with it. The fuel injection is fine and if tuned correctly is much better for putting around and cold starts. If replaced with a carb I suggest the Mikuni it kicks the shit out of an S&S no matter how cool the S&S is...
