Does this chrome grille make my ass look fat?

I picked up a rusty chrome grille a few weeks ago for my 41 Pontiac and finally got around to taking an SOS pad to it. The chrome on the driver's half is pretty good but the passenger side is pretty pitted. It's chrome plated light sheetmetal. I took a hunk of aluminum foil and rubbed it over the pitted area and it came out looking pretty good. I won't be running chrome bumpers....I'll use either the ones I have in the photo or a pair of painted 40 chevy "blade" style bumpers but they'll be painted body color. Does the chrome grille [just sitting on the splash pan for the photo] look stupid with painted bumbers?

This is what the front end looks like now and yes, that's a dent I have to remove in the top bar of the right grille half...........

i like chrome,the car needs a little brighting,it's just too much black,if such a thing is possible.

You thought about running it w/o bumpers? I think it would look good.

Rocky, I like the chrome,and think it will look fine with painted bumpers.How would you like to have my car? I could park it in with a bunch of Amish buggys and it would be hard to notice it!
