stick shift tranny question.....

I've read recently about people use the borg warner t5 trany's out of s10's and late model camaro's behind flatheads and other early engines. My question is I saw a picture of the transmittions and they look just like my borg warner t5 in my mustang. What are the differences in the two tranny's? They looked the same to me other than the shifters. Could I use my mustang tranny instead of finding a chevy version to put in one of my old cars so I can travel interstate speeds better? They both are borg warner transmittions surely I wouldn't think theres that big of a difference in the two.

The S10 unit has the shifter more forward than the car ones do. Seem to work out way better in these early cars.
