I always like to set goals for myself so instead of posting Sunday night about what I got done I will post Friday night what I intend to get done and Update on Sunday. I'll go first. Join in if you're so inclined.

I'm trying to get a '73 Charger done for my dad so I can get back to work on my hot rod. So I would like to fab the mounts for the radiator and get it installed. Work out something for hoses because stock ones will not work any more. Hook up heater hoses and valve. Mount the electric fan. Fab recessed mounts for driving lights, mount trans cooler and fabricate duct work, hook up steering column, and if there is time left i'll start flushing the break system.
Hopefully next weekend it will be on one Kooler cars.

Hopefully that trailer I just loaded with early Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, motorcycle etc parts will be empty after the Rosanky Swap meet tomorrow and I can just park it when I get home. Otherwise I gotta unload all the stuff & put it up somewhere. Most of it hasn't seen daylight in 15 yrs. Then, if all goes as planned tomorrow, Sunday I am going to get out catalogs & order shoebox parts. and relax.

OK I'll bite...gonna finish getting the paint buffed and install all the trim again. Hopefully get the interior back in and the heater working (never has since I've owned the car) since it's making a road trip soon.

ok I'll try it...I would like to finish boxing the front section of my frame and tack in the new front motor-mount/cross-member then position the motor and get the angle right... then maybe get to the back and make the templates for my rear airbag mounts.

cool!

i'm gonna get up late, about 10, head to the swap meet, score all the good deals that are there, theres ALWAYS lots of deals come late morning! then i'm going home, i'll wrench for an hour or two, i plan of finishing putting the motor in my 50 chevy truck, i just have exhaust, wiring, plumbing, mounts, etc to do. no problem. then i think i'll finish putting the blower back in the riv, get some new tires mounted, work on the model T, head to the junkyard to look for good parts, paint the toolbox i picked up at the swap meet today, hick some crap on egay, hit the saturday cruise, get drunk, get laid a few times, win the lottery, and THEN...wake up.

Let's see...my weekend oughtta go something like this:

1.) Buy $hitload of new radiator hoses to try and piece them together into something that will work...filling the "gaps" with sections of straight PVC tube and secured with 10,000 hose clamps.

2.) Go to friend's pad and get drunk.

3.) Stumble by brother-in-law's garage around midnight on Friday to laugh at his spring-infested dual quad carb linkage.

4.) Sleep in on Saturday morning.

5.) Probably go fiddle-fuck with the fortune in ho$e$ I bought last night...surely only to realize I'm WAY the Hell off base...damn 'eyeball engineering'!!

6.) Drive across the continent to rebuild a Holley 600 for a buddy.

7.) Drink beer during and after said carb rebuild.

8.) Stumble home again Saturday night grumbling about no further progress being made on the firmly rooted 49 Chev.

9.) Sleep in Sunday morning.

10.) Fiddle with cut up ho$e remnants for a few hours, not really getting anywhere.

11.) Spend my gas money for the week on a few more random, unrelated oddball parts that won't help in the slightest.

12.) Give up and drink some more.

13.) Wait for the alarm clock Monday morning to call me forth to another week building towards a repeat of the above steps with different useless parts that won't fit and can't work...

(Hey, it helps to have a PLAN, eh??? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)

Shit...I've ALREADY fucked up my Plan! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Standing in the hose section behind the counter at a local Auto Zone trying to envision which shapes I needed to make upper and lower hoses actually worked out great!

I just finished putting them on, after cutting and joining them together...'twas easier than I'da thunk it ta be...just hope they work out in the end, no leaks and stuff!

Now...time to get some DRINKING done! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

FatHack,

Here's my tech tip.

Take a coat hanger and bend it to a likly shape from your radiator to the motor, then take that to the parts store.

This tip is not mine but I've also heard of using that metal coiled tubing to mock up radiator hoses. It's the tubing that runs from the manifold up to the breather. 'Course a clothes hanger is a lot cheaper http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I spent the day hand mounting four 16" tires on newly powder coated rims. I wanted them on the roadster for the Ty_Rods Old Timer's Reunion tomorrow. I'm still looking for ribbed trim rings, but that can wait. I'll need Advil so I can sleep tonight.

The X-G/F will be moved out of my house by 4PM Sunday. We will both talk to a couple of deputies because a guy has to have witnesses these days in such situations. Her out door stuff may even see it's way out-a-here if I'm lucky. i will watch a couple of movies with my kids and claen the now very roomy basement. After taking the kids home to their mom, maybe I will go check out some blues at the local hole and dance with "strange" women. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
