i'm looking at gettin' a 53 belvedere hardtop. if i purchase it, i'm gonna pull the 6er out and use an sbc. i know, i know, but it's what i wanna do. i have a hot 375 hp lt1 and tranny that i wanna put into it. i've scanned every issue of custom rodder, r&c, hot rod( well no not hot rod, all they have in there anymore is cavaliers and imports) etc... and i can't find anyone who offers anything for these cars. no mustang 2 clips, no nuthin'.
sooo, anyone know where i might procure something like this, or will i have to fab it all up myself?

There is always the Diplomat/Volare front suspension.

My dad has a 51 Business Coupe, and He sawed the front end off a mid-80s S10, and subframed it with that. It worked VERY nice... almost perfect. The only thing I'd do different is to kinda "Z" the swap, so the S10 mounts a little higher in relation to the Mopar frame. Dad put dropped spindles on his, and it still needs to be about another inch lower to look right (and still be driveable). The only real issue is that you hafta notch out the radiator core support to clear the S10 steering box. Even more so if you use power steering. He also got the leafsprings and rear axle from the same S10 and dang near bolted it all in! Oh, yeah, he's running a SBC.

If you really wanna go MII, I think Fatman will build a front clip to-order.

If you go the S-10 route I got motor mounts.
Funny thing I was gonna buy a '55 olds from a friend in CA.
I talked to a friend of mine that's a rocket dude to the core about a mill. He said "Ah Hell Benno, just drop a small block chebby in it, thats what everyone else does."
Ya run what ya brung friend.
I might go the volarie route on the front if it was me. I really like torsion bars.

On the wayfarer, we've got a fatman mustang II clip. They will make one for you, but you still have to cut your frame off and weld it on. I hear the S-10 clip is the hot setup for low bucks, but the mustang II works well. Ply-Do sells dropped spindles, disc brake kits and even kits to mount a cavalier rack and pinion to old mopars. They also have motor mounts for sbc's and sb mopars. Picking up their catalog would probably be a good idea. They have a small ad in the back of street rodder. If you need rubber parts, Andy Burnbaum auto sells every piece of rubber you may need.
