Does anyone know of an electric (12v)wiper system that would work in a 1946 chevy pick up. Anything out of a used car or aftermarket would work. It needs to fit in the space where the vaccum used to go.

6 and 12V VW Bug wipers were used in lots of conversions in days past. Dunno if adaptable to your p/u.

MG roadster and Mini Cooper wiper motors are compact enough to use on a Deuce roadster, so I'll bet they work in your truck! Check junk compacts in the junkyards.
call new port engineering: (636) 239-1698
you won't be disappointed.

Another option is to go to Power Window Specialties. They use a european design cable setup that allows for much room. The actual motor can be mounted remotely anywhere with the cable run to the wiper assy.wipers (http://specialtypowerwindows.com/home.htm)
heres a better explanation wipers 2 (http://www.srbymichael.com/manufacturers/specialty/specialty.shtml)

I put a new port engineering set in my '54.
It's the best for my two-cents worth.

Not sure if your set-up has the wipers on the cowl or above the windshiled. If the wipers are on the cowl, then I give a second recommendation to the Newport Engineering wiper motor. Used that on my 38 Chevy and installed right in place of the vacuum motor and uses the original hook-up linkage.
On my 37 Chevy truck I have the wiper (only one) above the windshield, so if your 46 is the same, I think any universal 12 volt single wiper motor like sold for above the windshield mounting would work for that application.
