Actually I want a picture of the 57-59 Mercury Conv. with the huge dorsal fin on the back. There is a photo of it rounding the North turn on Daytona beach, I've seen the picture before, I just need that one or .jpg or .gif of that car.

I have a freaky idea brewing...

I didn't find the one I was looking for, but here's the freaky idea.

Pre '58 Daytona NASCAR inspired 52 Ford custom, removable headlight covers, headrest pods, chrome roll bar, cowcatcher front pan, bullet tailights, smooth wheels with spinner center caps, blackwalls, Y-block, etc.

I can stop trying now. 4t64rd has come up with the perfect automobile. I don't know how to tell you this but, there's a chance that the dosage is wrong. No shit. You're either taking too much or too little. I just wish I lived closer so I could help you build it. Wayno

EEK!

I'm usually on your side '46, but I can't support the construction of that car. Sorry. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

To me, it looks confused. It lacks the purposeful look of a race car and the '53 lines are too boxy for the custom mods pictured. Additionally, the monochrome bumpers throw it into the '80s for me. That's a definite flaw.

I'd have to see a few more tonneaued Daytona cars to figure out how to make it work.

Personally, I wish more people were building Dream Cars. It looks like a cross between a dream car and a race car, and that doesn't work for me.

Yeah. But it looks like a Nash gone haywire. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Wayno

THAT"S IT!!

I was kinda thinking of it as an updated version of a street driven track roadster, but on a "late" model. An alternative to painting it flat black with red wheels, or letting a 50's four door get crushed.

It won't change anybody's mind about it but I changed a few details, 53-55 Corvette-style bumperettes, open up side "vents", roll pan, chopped the windshield.. You could put a small moon tank or oil cooler in the grill opening.
