And here's a site with a link to the person making the old Funk V8 conversion for Ford tractors--I went looking for this when I realized that someone was probably commercially converting 8N radiators to flathead, but it looks like that might not be very useful afterall--this site explains and shows that the V8 rads are taller, and I would guess from the pics they are not much different from regular Ford passenger. Still, interesting weird flathead site...

Well, I'll bet it's close and I appreciate all of the suggestions from everyone...but I promise it won't fit. I'm telling you, the more I look at it this space is TINY. It all looks doable until you take those curves into account. Still might be a good thing have for a car down the road though. Thanks.

Bruce - Where's the link?

Hmmmm....(picks up monitor and shakes it...)...dunno.

Try this:http://home.att.net/~jmsmith45/funk.htm

A tractor is just a modified that needs a bit of work on its center of gravity and final drive gearing, yes?

And note that a Funk six "does three days work in two"!! Think what an A-V8 can get done in your shop!

That stuff is cool - wonder what those OHV conversions for the six looked like?

There was a conversion for the early six, I think an F head, but I think this likely refers to the 1952 OHV six, which was a popular industrial engine and had some hot rod following for a while.

I see - must have misread that. I was thining OHV conversion FOR the F head six.

I swear by 'em Grim. It's the smallest radiator I could find for my modified and it held my 350 at 180.

Just buy the damn thing and if it don't fit start slicing the nose til it does. Shit if you ruin the nose, the next one will be even cooler!

Your a damn trash can God, I wanna see this thing on the street. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wonder what the dimensions are of that thing. I need one like that for my track-T modified lakester.

I remember seeing flathead V8 powereed 8N's at tractor pulls when I was a kid. My boss has a '52 F1 with the OHV six. They are pretty rare.

I think that they are 19 inches across by 23 inches high. I think off the top of my head.

I e-mailed the guy and he said "THE RADIATOR IS
CORE 2.5" THICK- TANK IS 4.5" THICK- 22.5 " TALL18.5" WIDE- THANKS". Will this work in a stock 32 grille shell? How tall is a stock 32 radiator?

It should work inside a 32' shell. The opening on the shell is 18ish across by 24ish high. I think that one of the other tractor radiators is a little bit taller.

There are some other small tractor radiators too, like maybe a Case VAC? That's the shell Levisclassic is using, if he could measure the inside and post the dimensions it may work. A lot of the narrow tractor radiators are pretty thick, and should cool OK in a hot rod.

I have an old VAC Case TRACTOR here so if need be I can compare the measurement.
