Howdy! I seem to remember from some old rolls'n pleats, that one of you guys had mounted a capri gearbox to a Y block..
Dunno if he's a Hamber, but maybe some of you knows him,and could tell me
how it worked, and if it was near a bolt on situation?

"Victor has replaced the tired flathead in the roadster by one from a 51 Ford.
It's linked to a 4-speed manual trans from a 70's Ford Capri (european car)...."

If you need contact Victor, ask Christian, here, he's in the same car club...

We got loads of capriboxes here in norway,so we gotta find something to use them on.
And if norwegianv8 keeps destroying 39boxes,we'll soon run out of them here..... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That car was built by Shug, and it's a Sierra gearbox as far as I know (could be the same as Capri?), I only saw it once when the car was apart,it's a one of a kind setup, if I remember correctly he cut'n'welded some stuff to the bellhousing to pass the starter and match bolt patterns, not exactly rocket sience but that car has been around for ages and it works

European (early) Sierra, Taunus (aka Cortina in UK) and Capris has some interchangeable parts, you can easily swap a Taunus engine for a Sierra engine...
