Nice bike. My best friend just bought a '66 custom BSA. It may be a lightning? It has had the frame stretched out in the back a bit and he had a setup where the back wheel axle-threads have have a spring on each side for a little old school suspension ride. He also was the highest bidder on egay and got a 40's style short springer front end that he is going to put on it. Harley' are not the only bikes that look kool.It also sports some very short stumpy drag bars. Tight looking bike. I will have to send a pic somehow?. KNUX

Those springs look like the kind of springs used on something like a Brooks leather bicycle seat.

Bobber's were originally pre-chopper bikes that were stripped of anything that didn't make them go faster. The term comes from the "bobbing" of the rear fender for additional weight savings. These bikes did not have altered frame geometry.
The term bobber is grossly mis-used these days. I'm probably more guilty of it than anyone http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That was mostly hand built by my partner in crime Kenny, at his shop here in Bakersfield. Lots of neat touches. You should see the Crosley station wagon drag car he has been working on. Sick!

Chica's Custom Cycles carries that same style seat, I believe he wants about $100, not bad, good quality seat.

Thanks for the info Whizzerick, though for some reason the 30.00 seems high for some springs, I'd pay 9.00 each, anyone have some?
Another thought, I was thinking these look to be the same as those hand exercise things, I'll get those for 3.50 ea.
bendup the ends, weld them and a done.

BTW here is pic of my bike, ohh!! sorry guys I can't afford the accurate engineering Panhead or Knucklehead FAKE. In my mind they're EVO based clones.
