back in the late 50's there there was a dude in wichita, if i remember right his name was Chet Wilson.

he built a 55 post, red color, with the mighty mouse cartoon caractor on the lower section of the fenders.

this car was the coolest damned 55 i ever saw. Gasser in style, steel tilt front end and of course several different sbc. It ended up in Florence in the mid 60's and met an untimely death smacking a bridge in Salina in around 72, in a street race.

it looked very much like an early version of the AG/TLB car, aircraft buckets, no rear seat, no rear brakes etc.

anyone have a picture of this car? or does anyone know of Chet Wilson, or his descendants?

I have a Cousin in Larned,KS that used to be into cars, I'll call him later and see if he remembers seeing it.Larned is only 20 miles from Great Bend and I think Great Bend was where the First NHRA "National" Drag Race was held.

I live in Wichita. Chet Wilson has passed away. Chet Wilson's son, Jerry Wilson, still operates Chet Wilson Engine Service, or should I say operates again.

I don't think I have any shots of that car (my era was mid to late '60s), but my web page might bring back some memories. http://flatheaddrag.com/

I don't know if this is it or not. I found this shot on George
McDowell's website carnut.com (which is local to Wichita).

I had a Chet Wilson cam in a 67 Camaro back in 76 or so. I talked with Chet several times. He told me I needed to stroke my SBC 350. I would have loved to but no money. The engine was strong anyway. Chet was a nice guy and built all kinds of motors. Circle track to boats. I haven't dealt with his son but I've heard good things about his shop.
