Stupid sportbikers. We have a big problem with them out here as well. I always feel sorry for those poor little hotties perched out on the back. I always see those pricks whipping in and out of traffic lanes with recklass abandon, just trying to muscle the bike around to show offf or something and thinking to myself that one of these days that stupid prick is going to pitch that little thing off right into traffic. This guy is not a "sportbiker", he is what we refer to as a "squid". Guys who are serious into sportbikes don't like his kind any more than you guys do. I was pretty heavily into sportbikes for about ten years, and I get just as pissed off seeing some moron blaze through traffic as the rest of you guys do. This guy and people like him don't represent a true sportbike enthusiast any more than the drunk idiot in the hotrod doing burnouts at 3am represents a true hotrodder.

It's not all about babes and showing off. FWIW: my latest bike (a Ducati 996) doesn't even have a passenger seat...

I have no clue. Lower than you'd guess, higher than it should be? The interests of the two groups are wide enough apart we rarely crossed paths... The problem is, the squids are the ones that stand out and people notice/remember.

To a non-rider, does a bike even register if it isn't blasting your eardrums* or being riding by a complete idiot? Seriously, I don't know but I would suspect probably not. *For the record, I think straight pipes on any street-driven vehicle suck, but it's hard to argue against that they do get you noticed, which is a good thing for a rider... (And as long as I'm on the record, I should mention I make my living designing OEM automotive mufflers, so I may be a bit biased about loud vehicles!)

I met a CR type ricer coming into a curve in Boulder Canyon outside Sturgis. I had my ex on the back and this guy had a girl with him Both had helmets, shorts and sandals. I could see that he was coming in too hot and got over, When we met he was over the line and I could hear metal on the pavement. I was slowed way down and looked in the mirror to see the bike sliding and both of them flying over the bank into the big rocks. Several other bikes behind us had already stopped so we went on into the Golf course and called it in. I never did hear how they came out.
When my daughter turns 14 she will have her own bike and hopefully will realize how much riding double sucks anyway and not get on the back.

The only female I have a profound dislike for is my EX GF, and I dont even hate her enough to let her ride on my bike...

Chicks ax me ALL the freakin time, "So when do I get a ride on one of your bikes?"

I tell them, as soon as you show up with a helmet, boots, a full riding suit, and letters from ALL your living relatives forgiving me in advance and releasing me from liability in case I disfigure/maim/paralyze/kill them.

So far, I think ONE that I told that to has ten bucks saved up towards a helmet...

I saw that clip on another board, it was received as very entertaining...
