why take them out to cut the coils? we use to just heat a coil and let it sag down ..works every time!.....doesn't always ride great, but looks is what you are after, right?

The old shop manual I own says, remove shock, place floor jack under center of the lower A arm. Prop front crossmember up, loosen inner lower a arm bolts and release pressure on on jack to lower lower A arm. Remove spring and cut.

I have cut a lot of coils without taking them out by cutting them in 1/4 pieces and digging the pieces out as I go, worked good for me.

put a jack under the bottom a arm once the cars on jacks. jack it up a little. undo the shock. undo the top of the king pin. and drop the a arm. coil should come right out. if not u might have to cut it.

right on, That makes sense now to take the A arm off, I appreciate the help guy's, By the way do you think clipping 2 rounds off is too much? does anyone know how many inches a round is?

I had to take the top bolt out of mine, cuz I couldnt get the bottom one out... I would recommend using the bottom one, cuz the top one is how you adjust the camber...And cut only one coil at a time, I ended up taking one and a half coils out of mine and Im running a smallblock, it was good for about 2 "... needs to be lower though...

check out the unfinished chop thread.... Im gonna add dropped spindles here pretty soon and bring the back down a little more too..... that should be pretty good and still ride somewhat ok....
