Hey gang,

I bought one of the new "Rat Boy"<FONT SIZE="-2">TM</FONT> kits from Speedway that BobBleed mentioned a while back. (complete with a rule book.) and anyway, I'm going to road trip up from Austin to Jefferson City (and Kansas City) MO to go get it here in a few weeks.

If you can get parts somewhere close to my route, and maybe buy me whatever meal happens to be closest, I'd be happy to relay it for you. I'll be pulling a trailer, but most of what I'm getting can fit in the bed, so I can probably haul some fairly decent sized stuff.

The date's not firm yet, my wife's due any day now with our first kiddo, so it'll be several weeks minimum, but I wanted to throw it up here now in case anyone wants to make arrangements to hop onboard.

Let me know! The only other thing I ask is that if it requires a hoist or several guys to carry it, have all of that lined up on both ends ahead of time so I can get this all accomplished in a long weekend.

Thanks!

-Scott

Speedway's in Nebraska.
Are you going that far North?
What route would you be taking?
I've got a flathead that I need to pick up in Iowa...

I hadn't planned on getting that far north. I plan on heading up I-35 (or 281 to miss DFW) to OKC, then up to Wichita and over.

I got a truck in Temple I need brought up to Dallas. Let me know?

Also, when are you planning on leaving. Cause I really have
some more shit I need lugged up to OKC, then a front end I need lugged up to the Wichita area. I'm not trying to take advantage, I'd be more that will to make it worth you while.

Well, not sure on the date, it'll depend when my kiddo comes and how momma's doing, but I'm shooting for 3 weeks from now or so. (1st or 2nd weekend in Nov.) How big is the truck? It's a 16' trailer and I have a 1/2 ton truck to pull it with. I'd be happy to haul the stuff to OKC and Wichita, that's right where I'm headed. As long as someone's there to help me unload it in a timely manner, and it's not too far off the beaten path, that'd be fine! I'll probably leave early Friday on whichever weekend I go and try to get up into Kansas that night.

Hey Scott, there might be something in Sedalia I need to be here instead. I'm in Denton, about 45 minutes South of Oklahoma on 35. I can give ya some cash or gas money for your troubles.

I'll need to drag out a map and plan out the logistics here... it'll be first-come first serve until space and/or time fill up http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

K&amp;R, that looks like it's right where I'm going to be if it's not too big. On the way back, it'll have to fit on the trailer with a model A chassis.

It might be the rear half and rear doors of a touring body, if it hasn't been sold already.

That should fit fine.

Thanks a lot Dean! I'm hoping to have a few days so I can make it an enjoyable trip, but we'll see how it unfolds. It may be a dash up and back. If I get to take some time, I'll take you up on it!

Some folks have asked to see a pic of my "kit." Here it is, it's the one TraileredCarsSuck had for sale:

I also have a chassis lined up along the way.

Awesome guys, thanks! I'll probably spend the night in the KC area, so it'd be great to meet some of ya. It might be kinda late, but we'll see how it all unfolds.
