383man

Hi all my name is Ron and I go by 383man as I used to have my son's Dart when it had a 383 in it. Yes I am a Mopar man but I love all muscle cars and respect the work people put in their cars. I ended up selling the Dart to my son very cheap when I got a deal to get my Mopar dream car which is my 63 Plymouth Sport Fury. I love Max Wedge cars and even though this was a 383 car and not a real Max Wedge car I have no problem making a clone. It has a mild 440 in it that I made to look like the 426 Max Wedge but I have not thad the funds to get the crossram setup yet so it has a single four carb on it now.
The 426 and 440's look the same from the outside so it is an easy deal to make a 440 look like a 426 wedge.
The 440 is a mild build that I did as it has stock bottom end with KB pistons and the stock 906 heads I ported and cut for 10.0 comp and a nice .042 quench as it runs fine on 92 pump. I used the MP .557 cam my buddy gave me with Isky iron rockers. Up top is the Holley Street Dominator intake with an 850 DP. MP ign and a Mallory dist I also got very cheap from my brother.
The trans is a 727 I built to mostly stock specs with a bolt in overrunning clutch and a reverse manual V/B. Convertor is a Luppo Dynamic 9.5 street/strip convertor that drives like a normal convertor but will flash about 4200 when I nail it. I have 4.30's out back and I run Hoosier QTP 29 x 11.5 tires on the street and strip. The body and suspension are all stock but I did add frame connectors and a 6 point rollbar to stiffen the car up.
Its a 99% street car that I drive to the track 2 or 3 times a year. I love driving it to the local cruises and Fri and Sat nights and yes I drive the highway with the 4.30's and 29" tires as it runs about 3200 at 60 to 65 mph. I took it on a 120 mile round trip last year running the highway almost the whole trip.
Here are a few pics. Thanks for this cool place. :) Ron
