I'm looking on doing a frame swap for a '50 chevy.

There is an '85 Blazer frame readily availiable and practically free. Would this work or do I need to stick to S-10 frame.

What is the wheel base I'm looking for?
I saw the SO-What post on the Tech-o-matic but I couldn't tell.

Thanks in advance, TD

I have seen both used. I talked a guy last year at a show that used the blazer frame on his 49/50 chevy pu. Since you have to make tall body mounts anyway it really does not matter as long as it is a 2wd frame. The blazer frames are taller (2x6") vs a truck (2x4") and should have less flex. if it is a 2 door frame you will have to shorten you bed to work or lengthen your frame.

My 50 model truck is on an 84 model regular cab long bed S10 frame. Wheelbase is 116 inches.

you will want to use a long bed frame.

i did it with a blazer frame, it was a short wheelbase, i stretched it using sections of the original 50 chevy trucks frame, it was within 1/8" in height as the new one. if your donor truck is a freebie, it might be worth the days work to stretch. i did mine right in front of the front mount for the leaf spring.
