Have a set of fenders I want to dip instead of media blasting. I know the place here in OKC has moved on or closed down due to EPA regs. Is there anywhere that still does the vatting within a couple hours of OKC?

Last I heard there wasn't anyone left in Oklahoma that it. I called several places a couple of years ago and they said would probably have to go out of state to get it done.

I think there were problems with the process, stuff getting traped inside body and not properly nutralized. One local car had the wire wheels dipped, now years after it was finished there are rust rings around every spoke nipple. A GOOD media blaster that knows what he is doing is the way to go in my opinion.

I could not find the info on the one in Dallas. I will keep looking and place a call for you. There is a swap meet in Arlington in 2 weeks there should be some info out there, I will grab if i see it.

Thanks.

The reason I wanted to do the chemical strip is because these fenders have a lot of prior bodywork and mud in em. I just want to see everything that ever been done. I have had some stuff media blasted and it never gets all the filler out.

A torch and a puddy knife work well. I've never used a heat gun on filler but it is the best way to strip paint and save the primer. Just keep using new razor blades, and don't nick the primer.

Actually, I want all bare metal. I may try and blast it myself then take it and have it finish blasted.

I was gonna ask....were they pretty high on pricing?
I need to run these fenders down pretty quick.
I'll give em a call...............see if they will price it over the phone.

I had them dip a 30-31 Model A gas tank. I got it back in about a week, the thing was like a shiny new quarter, and it was $100.

Here's their website: http://www.metalrehab.com/
