I search a local website classified on a daily basis looking for cars.I see alot of funny ads and dreamers that are on another planet someplace. These by far win the Gold Medals... First ad,this guy has been trying to sell this car for 7 months on here, look at the car,he has had dozens of replies posted begging him to give it up,but he persists,he just lowered the price by a few hundred but still on crack!! check this one out: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/car/41215745.html

Next one I am trying to contact the guy to verify this isnt a misprint,I don't think it is seeing it has the same price listed twice on the ad!!,,this one is the winner of the two if indeed a non typo: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/car/40129482.html

I will find some more,I know it...Hope you enjoyed that..

My towns local pennysaver type paper has a 76 "Camero" in it, with a "New Holly Crab" and "kind rusty Cragers".

The automatic steering on the Impala alone is worth the asking price. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Man, I hate to say this but this car is a seat cover, carpet set and primer job away from $8000.00. These Tri-Five Chevys are bringing really BIG #'s here in the Midwest. A couple years ago I looked at a '55 two-door post 150 a guy was selling...I thought it would be a $3500.00 car...the usual 350/350, ten year old burgundy paint, funky flex-pipe exhaust, a decade old amateur restoration (homemade seat covers, stuff like that). He was asking $9,000.00....I almost lost it!....two weeks later the car shows up a my buddy's shop for new exhaust and the new owner tells how he "stole" this car for $8000.00! A local machinist friend of mine bought a '55 post a few years ago at Back To The Fifties in Saint Paul and paid $5000.00 for a BODY ONLY!...sure it was rust-free but had lots of poorly done repairs and needed a total strip and repaint. It just goes to show ya that one man's trash is another man's treasure!

That's something I don't understand. It must be the "right place at the right time" syndrome. I've got buddies that have sold cars in the same shape as mine and a couple were just my car with a parking lot paint job, for anywhere from 12,000 up to 18,500. Then when i'm at the same show, some idiot comes up and offers me 4500 like he's doing me a favor. I just don't get it.

People are stupid!!!!

Maybe I should've told him mine is a one-of-a-kind RAT ROD then it would have doubled the price....J/K http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have to agree, my buddy bought a '55 Chevy a year ago for $7500 that had a crappy small block in it that needs everything replaced or redone. I thought he was nuts, but the prices of tri-fives are going through the roof. The front seat of a '55 Chevy can bring over $1000 alone, trust me I saw him sell just a frame of a seat for $600.

The Plymouth wagon seems obscenely overpriced but the 55 is in line with prices paid here for a big-block 55 with a title. The cut-out wheelwells just mean it could be a 2 lane blacktop clone with an axle , primer job and wheels.
