I followed my way here reading a thread about Dick Dean passing, may he RIP. Got to reading and realized there is a lot for me to learn here and may contribute once in a while too. Been playing with cars off and on for 40 years or so. Right now we just have one hobby car, a custom '53 Studebaker. You may see it driving around the greater Sacramento area.

I expect I'll mostly be reading and learning my way around for a while. Looking forward to meeting you folks across cyber space.

Thanks for having me

That's interesting ZZ. Elverta is only about 25 miles from me. You get your tin out here and believe it or not my Stude was found in Iowa and originally built in Minnesota before finding it's way out West. A fellow named Loren Roberts, from St Clair near Mankato was the original builder.

Hey Pat my fenders came off ebay my car hauling friend picked them up for me, that why i bought them
Iowa has some good stuff Dakotas are good, Mankato is about a hour or so away

I like the 53 coupes but it seems like i wind up with Hawks, Bill & Rick in Long Beach have a lot of Stude parts

I got stuff from all over the USA, i'm not chasing it myself any more - you have to go both ways - twice the gas

I will post up more pictures of the body mods later. You can see a journal of a recent engine swap project here:

Swap Journal: http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/journal.php?action=view&journalid=33611&page=1&reverse=0

Gives you some ideas of what the car is about.

Great pics of the 56s ZZ. Bruce I love the stance on that truck!

Here are some more pictures of our our '53 and one with my son-in-laws '53 Chebbie. Every panel on the car has been modified in some way. Power is from a 2000 LS1 with 4L60E overdrive automatic. It has a 2800 stall converter and 3.80 gears.

Hope you enjoy it
