It’s about time I introduced myself, and started posting. I have lurked on the H.A.M.B. since the demise of the ORIGINAL Rodders Round Table.

I turned 58 years old this past January, been married to the same woman for 35 years, and have two sons, age 31 and 23, and live in Papillion (Omaha area), Nebraska.

I supervise locomotive engineers for the largest railroad in the USA, with territory that goes from Council Bluffs, Iowa, West Denison, and Sioux City to Grand Island, Nebraska, and I am on call 24-7 for crossing accidents, derailments, and any other thing they think I should be out there for.

I am telling you this as this is my excuse for not working on my car.

I have a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe with the jump seats.

I purchased this car many years ago from the dealer down on Highway 71 just north of Carthage, Missouri.

He told me he had acquired it from a woman who lived somewhere in Kansas (can’t remember where he said), whose husband, who had owned the car, passed away before finishing it.

The car appears to have been hot rodded at one time.

My plans for it are a 1960’s style hot rod that I remember seeing back when I was a young teen, basically a stock looking exterior with updated power train (the traditional SB Chevy, mainly because that is what I have on hand).

I will try and post a couple pics.

If anyone knows any history of this car, please let me know.

I have been dealing with the affects and treatment of a very rare and aggressive cancer they found last fall so I have not been doing much other than working.

Hopefully my energy level will pick up and I can get back to doing something.

I need to get this car on the road!!!

nice car
a day spent working on your car is better than any time spent in a gym

Welcome Mike! Don't let the project go too long or the next guy may be telling your story. A Y-Block would make that car sing. ;-)

Thanks.

The only engine ,other than flat head, in a 40 Coupe has to be Hemi

Welcome back to the fold.
The 40 looks like a good start. I had a '40 with the jump seats(an Oprah coupe I don't know how she'd fit back there though!):D
