I Went to Lead East today. It was nice to talk to the guys I only see once or twice a year. I got these pics amongst all the cameros, chevelles, mustangs & all the other cars that fit right into a 50's party, WTF?
Enjoy the pics.

Thanks for picking out all the real lead sleds for us.
The black primer Merc with dog leg removed, grill made from 51 tall bumper guards, that is one smooooth ride. That's the pic that explains why that model was/is so popular.

That is coverage! Nice, nice sled's and custom's that have tastefull mod's, rather than overkill. Beauty of a day of sunshine as well. Thank-you for the thread of enjoyment.

Thanks for the pics shoebox72, looks like a lot of nice cars and it was a really good day.
I heard there was a lot of late model stuff there this year. What's your take?
and how were the bands?
I've got to get back there one of these years.

Thanks for the pictures. What's with the 39 Ford taillights used as front parking lights? Nice looking car except for that. Dean

i really like the flat black merc on page 2 and the black '56 chevy on page 3. both are awesome cars.
last year there were 93 mercs at lead east. so this year they were hoping to break 100. did anyone hear if that happened? it sure looked like it walking around. mercs everywhere you looked.

jeff- there were 113 Mercs on Saturday. No count on shoebox fords.
I had a great time. Saw old friends, met new ones and a '58 Pontiac station wagon that was worth the price of admission alone.

I tried a few times to get a pic of the poncho wagon but there was always a swarm of people around it. Ther are always alot of nice customs at this show but you've got to admit there are more empty parking spots every year.

shoebox72, you must not have been there on saturday because there were NO empty spaces, as a matter of fact they opened a fourth lot for the overflow..one of the coolest things about lead east is that you don't have to stay parked all day, you come and go as you please, maybe that accounts for some empty spots you saw...bob

Bob I was there on Saturday, You were sitting under your tent on the corner with the rats & gravestones by the curb. You were wearing a maroon tshirt. I gave you a wave & a "Hey Bob"but you must not have known who I was even though I've talked to you a few times in the past.
I left around 1:30 so the lots may have filled up later, but if you look at my pics the there were a few "empties".
See ya around. Billy
