I was thinking as most of you Tn. rodders are hanging out in the Boro...Im sitting here wondering how you guys would feel about trying to get a Saturday night "cruise night" started somewhere local.
Only a thought,Its so hard for me to make definite plans on a friday night..I have funky hours

Local as in where? Sounds great! There's a lot of compitition saturdays though. I wish there were good sunday cruises,picnics. A lot of middle tn autoworkers(nissan,saturn) don't have sat. nites off from work. Glenn

19DICK I looked for your Buick. Where were you? I had a great time with Glenn and got to meet jstorm and his dad. all very nice people. Also see a lot of people I know from circle races. I was impressed with the car count and the quality of the cars but the most fun I had was watching every one go by the shiney billet cars and not look but when they got to the jalopy 43 car everyone looked and said thats cool. this is very true. As the sch permits I will try to travel to the boro area.Bobby

It's funny you brought this up. I used to be V. Pres of the club that puts this cruise on. I dropped out because most of the people that actually want to be "in charge " of things are just used car salesmen ( we call them used car Nazis) and don't have a clue what's going on in the world of hot rodding. The club is named the Murfreesboro Hot Rod Club....there's not one damn HOT ROD in it. If you look in the Wheels and Deals and see an add for a 1976 Chrysler New Yorker...just needs to be street rodded..???????....this is the kind of mentality they have. It's a great cruise in, but just by pure dumb luck.


Ok, now that i've vented, on with my point.


You'd be surprised how many people approach us constantly wanting the cruise in moved to Sat. night. like Glen says, it's hard for most people to get away from work or make plans on Fri. night. I don't get away from Nissan until 5;30 pm....go home get the car...grab a bite to eat....it's 8pm before I can get there. I didn't find out you guys were coming until 9pm last night...if you guys will let me know, i'll be there next time. Hey Glen, i'll get back with you after while and let you know if we are coming to Backyard Burgers.

I think we should ride out this season, since it's almost over and get together at one of the pre-existing shows....Fri, Sat or Sun....whatever you guys want to do and talk this thing up. We can make some plans to bust out the rack rods on them next year BIG TIME! The cruise in the Boro is great, but there's soooo many things wrong with it, I can't figure out how it got so big. I think people are desperate for something to do and it's just the right place at the right time.

Sorry I missed you guys....I'll be on here looking for a post of when you're coming again.

19dick63....is Poor Boys the Classic Chevy club in Waverly? I went to that show years ago when I first got my car. I used to be a charter member of the Heart of Tn Classic Chevy club. The whole primer thing caused a big problem with those guys! I've never heard "What color ya gonna paint your car" sooooo many times......sheesh.

I've been picking at the Greazy Hubcapz out in East Tn to start a chapter in Middle Tn. We need some kind of club for the like-minded greazy types in this area.

Have you heard of the Nasty Chopper Boys? It's a cheasy name but they have a shop on the main drag in Smyrna named: THE SHOP.....they're not very creative with names evidently. They supposedly bought most of the equipment from a buddy of mine who was making signs,trophies and t-shirts out of THE SHOP. They should be able to fix you up. If not, they can put you in touch with Randy at Pleasant Graphics. He's the one they bought out.

There's another guy on Nolensville Road, down by the Nashville Fairgrounds who does all our t-shirts at Nissan. I don't have any other info on him. I can ask around, but it might take a while.

i havent been in awhile to BYB, i probably will be out there around 6. My wife is gonna come to, maybe walkin awhile will make that kid come out quicker. THE SHOP in smyrna is about a mile from my house, the seem to do good work. The Nasty Choppers guys seem to build cookie cutter bikes, i believe they own a couple OCC bikes. Lokk for me on this.

I just got back to my shop. I had to set with a friends father {he is 89} and boy did I get chewed out when they returned. I let him have some beer and smoke a cigar all outside. But back to meets the next friday night Glen Jalopy43 has off if everyone else wants to we can meet at the buro cruise in. or I am open to anything.The Ford {its a old drag car D/Gas} made its first trip last fri and I made it with no problems. Looking forward to meeting others in the future.

Sparky, That's an easy one. 840 to 40 towards Nashtyville. Take the Mt Juliet exit to the right towards town and it takes you straight to Sonic. We can meet somewhere on the way if you like. I may be able to rustle up a posse to go with us. This whole area is screaming for an invasion.

It depends.....do you really want to drive all the way to Nashville?? I'm not sure which would be closer for you.

You could come up 65N and then take 40 towards Knoxville, but to me it would seem better if you get onto 840 and cut across to 40N (or west..i can't remember...just head towards Nashville) then look for the Mt Julio exit. Hollywoods right there's only one MJ exit.

Has anyone heard from jstorm yet? I wonder if Mama's popped a baby storm yet.
