I picked up a Thickston 2X1 intake at Hershey for my 51 Chevy. Sixinarow Joe made the suggestion to run glass bowl holleys and I was wondering if anyone was running them and if there are any problems with them. I think they are a neat carb and all your input would be appreciated.
Thanks, Billy

I have one on my Falcon and am building a 3x1 engine and plan to run three on that. As long as you use a new gasket, there is nothing wrong with them. I think they just plain look cool.

i have seen two of them now at swap's but never bit..i didn't know if they were even worth anything. I should have gotten them now. the glass bowls are cool looking. do it billy.
I'll be running two of those on a Ford 223 6cyl in my '32 pick up. The glass bowl 1bbl Holleys are the same as the ones with the metal bowl cover. The bowl covers are interchangeable.
The only drawback with the glass bowl covers is that they can shatter if they receive a good impact. I plan to carry a couple of spare metal bowl covers in case that happens to me. That way, it's only a couple of minutes on the side of the road to change a cover, rather than being stranded.

Sorry to dredge up ancient history but what years/makes did these come on and how much do they flow? Any reason three of them couldn't be used progressively on a V6?
