I just went down to the storage shed to measure my roof for a piece of wagon roof from scrapmetal art.
When I got there someone else's lock was on the door, and mine was not to be found, a big assed uhaul trailer was parked in front of my spot. Tehe door behind the trailer didn't have a lock anymore.
So I went up to the offices and they gave me a new space lock (narley) and we went down to see what was missing.
Everything was all jumbled up, Mrs Beaner had boxes of antique dishes mixed in with my car parts.
I couldn't find anything missing for sure. even my brand new wheels and tires that I got from scribe are still there.
Of course now I'm paranoid to the max.
I hate thieves and I'm a lucky stiff, I think.

Uh hope this aint too OT

well uhaul keeps very good records and you can find out where the trailer came from ,sounds very odd, i guess all you renters better get over and check your off site storage, good heads up if nothing else, i would want the explaination fron the storage place how the trailer got in your area?

They were surpirsed about the trailer, the guy just checked the area about an hour before I got there.
The trailer wasn't big enough to haul my coupe but it could have hauled my small parts, or the other stuff.
Its on its way to the impound yard even as we speak. he marked my new lock so he could tell if it gets changed.
I guess they're stepping up security who knows.
I was plannin' on bringin' the coupe home real soon.

So somebody broke in, and put a new lock on? Wierd, unless they were keeping your gear 'safe' for when they could tote it all away on that U haul http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's common.
They change the lock and then the storage people don't notice. if you don't show up nobody no the difference and they haul stuff off at thier liesure.
I think the uhaul would have been a big clue to the storage people though.
I can't believe they didn't haul anything off to start with.
Maybe they did, I'll know tomorrow when we straighten it out in there. But...
Crack heads I guess.

probably the same storage unit.
The guy from the storage unit is doing all but camp out for the next few nites.
He said he'd call if I wanted to try and get there before the police. Perhaps we can make 'em understand.
I still can't imagine why they didn't cart anything off. There are 3 sets of oh never mind.
Hey Kenny you still got my tubeing don't you?

Damn that would have been a double whammy, and I was upset about my old grungy project.
Both those cars are too kool for skool.

.......long as they don't steal that prize 65 chevy pickup I sold ya, you'll be ok. Just keep an eye on that truck.
Ben, I think I'd set a trap for the scum bags. After getting my model A pickup ripped off, I'd just lovvvvvvve to help catch thieves....
Put everything back the way they left it and hide in the bushes and wait....with the cops, of course. Spring out and have 'em all arrested to the max...or sumthun

My Dad had some things stolen, along with some of my stuff, from a storage facility in American Canyon Ca. He moved up to Oregon, and left some of the bigger stuff behind. The facility manager was in on it, he new my Dad was out of state, and wouldn't be stopping in anytime soon. They almost got my 59 Porsche, but the only thing that saved it was the brakes had locked up. They couldn't move it. Dean
