I wish I had the time to spend countless hours on every bracket, gusset or mount but I don't. Some of my welds aren't clean and nothing would be worthy of plating with out a lot more work. Comparable to getting the basic design idea with a quick sketch I guess. I've got about ten of these shots. A lot of them are nothing new but maybe someone gets some inspiration from them.

Tail light bracket made from the end of Model A headlight bar and some flat stock...the phillips head bolts will go away.

Pedal assembly. Lots going on here - sorry I couldn't get a better picture. Pedals have been sliced and shortened in spots (but maintain the original geometry) to clear bellhousing and crossmember. Made a new center shaft from DOM tubing and a new clutch lever piece from a tie rod clamp and a piece of Model A mechanical brake linkage - this lets you use a clevis on both ends which I like the idea of for some reason. You can see the return spring hanging from the upper clevis. Tabs from trans will hold a foot well to keep my feet from falling into the bellypan.

Brake line mounts. Nothing special. Just some short bolts spot welded to the housing with clamps, lockwashers and acorn nuts. I thought it looked pretty clean.

This one is sort of odd. Bicycle hub used for a throttle pivot - from a '54 Schwinn Hornet if anyone cares. Mount bolts to the transmission to cover.

nice job getting all those pedals in that tight of a space. I had the same issuses. if i wasnt carefull my wide-ass foot would get stuck between the body and steering colum while clutching...

I blew up the manual trans and put the 350 I had in the Garage in... so no more of that!

You're an impatient bunch...I have more.

Just a fuel block off plate. Cut it from some aluminum scrap.

Stock Model A hood side. Cut some notches for the steering and frame and it looked terrible. Bent some 1/4" rod and welded it around the edge. It's a little crooked and has a kink or two, but looks better than it did.

That’s some good imagineering.

Some have seen this before. Headlight mount is made from the rest of the Model A headlight bar, some tubing, lever shock arms, and a couple of shackle plates for the tabs at each end. Removable without having to re aim-the headlights. Spreader bar unbolts as a seperate piece.

Also - bulkheaded the brake lines with some thick flat washers and a split collar.

Tank straps. Seems like these came together in about fifteen minutes. Made from flat stock that was shaped around the torque tube on my car and the shallow bends were done over the tires. Like a lot of the other parts I've made I picture them with the welds ground down and eventually polished/plated.

No real fabrication. Just some nice looking machine screws backed with copper flat washers holding the firewall in...I thought it looked good. Dash will get the same treatment.

That's all.

Grim sometimes the better engineered stuff never gets the shiney stuff.
If it doesn't brake you'll spend so much time behind the wheel you'll never have time to send it off.
It all looks good to me. Remember the name of the game is build it with what's at hand, then prove to the world that it works.
The spoon pivot it too much bro.
Hey did you ever work out a radiator? I think I have one that's a little smaller than that big block radiator, luckily.

It looks awful nice to me Grim. Looks like a car that is/was well built in someone's garage/shop. Also looks like it's built for driving, vs. showing. I like that.

I finally have my radiator issues taken care of. TV is doing a lot to help me out i that area....hey TV, notice anything missing from my car in that last shot? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Set the body on the frame for the final time last night. Finding more little things that need to be done...but nothing that will kill me.

Grimlok,

Very nice work. Looks like more than a few hours of head scratching and mock up work. It fabrication like yours that makes me want to leave work early, go home and make use some of odd crap I've rat holed into all the corners of my garage.
