I just wanted to thank everyone that lent a hand or some advice to get the 54 back on the road. Yah, she broke down about 1/2 mile from the micro hotel sunday morning~still leaking outta the fucking carb gasket. A local, and a trio of Indianain's dropped by and helped out, and thank god for RTV, i think it got me and the 54 home safe and without anymore problems. To the guy from detroit that i "borrowed" your screw driver and pliers, i'll keep it in the car till i run into you someday...
I OWE A LOT OF PEOPLE BEERS, and will take care of you guys next time.
Jeff

I was the quiet one of the trio from Indiana that did nothing but crack jokes. I'm glad you guys made it back without incident. We thought about you a couple of times and wondered what the outcome would be.
Next time... more tools...more gaskets... no RTV!!! Especially so far from home!!!!

I'm not sure if the RTV saved the day or not, but it worked, and yes setting a tool box is already started. but hell, i wouldn't have meet so many hambers if i didn't brake down. thanks again for the help and jokes....

Flathead? what's that? surly not better than a stovebolt
I was the 54 chevy that was pushed in, but i don't feel as stupid knowing i'm not the only one..
Chuck, we'll have to plan something one of these days, see if nick is interested too
Hey, PBR, glad that RTV got you home, but dont do what I did and use it to seal a fuel pump. The fuel softens it and bits clogged my fuel lines and needle valve.

I wouldn't feel too bad. Mine was one that got pushed into the show off of a trailer. I would like to see some pics of that, with Nummnut, Continental John, and Drew pushing! I still haven't got it running. Maybe tonight if all goes well.
