The intro nazi's cared not for my first attempt at hello so here goes again. My name is David Webber,3rd Gen. austin native(fuckin proud of it!),been lurkin for a while cause iv'e not got alot to shoot my mouth off about because I dont yet have an appropriate vehicle. The automotive Gods have blessed my wallet(well,a little anyway, been workin me ass off !)so I wanna say hello & impose upon you folks for advice, knowledge, beer & maybe a little beer.I am in the market for, yeah I know, who isnt,a 30-31 three window or 2 door sedan.Done a fair amount of footwork on this but my skills & budget keep me cautious.I'm great with the modern cars(Merc.Benz Tech) but still learning to weld & play with METAL.Anyhow, been after one of these rides since i can remember & now it's time to spend $ & enjoy the frustrations of learning new stuff.Any & all help/abuse appreciated.

BTW, early ford body styles/production years a bit difficult for me to tell apart sometimes. I know, count on my fingers...1..2..3..4..5 windows.hints on what ford made when & how to spot the subtle diffs? how does the uninitiated always know when shopping? 28,29,30,31.....

To me, the name is offensive. Is it really the first thing you want people you don't know to think about you.

Model A's only came in 5 windows. '32's had 3 and 5 windows. A's have visors above the window and 32's on don't.

Telling 28-29's from 30'31's gets a bit hard for me to describe. I could point out cowl differences, but can't think how to type it. I still can't tell the difference in a '30 and '31.

Welcome

Buzzard is right on.

5 window obvious

sport coupe 3 windows with cloth on the top (still not called a 3 window)

Roadster the top goes down

Cabriolet top goes down windows go up

Several 4 door sedan available standard and slant windshield
Briggs and Murray

2 door sedans are self explanatory

Vicky looks just like a tudor with a funky hump in the back

4 kinds of trucks roadster, "phone booth", regular and huge (AA)

Phaeton is like a sedan, but the top goes down. Came in 2 door and 4 door. The 2 doors are gorgeous in 31'.

Woodys are cool, but you'll never find one.

They made a town car too, sedan with no roof in the front.

Deliverys are cool, but very rare.

Sure I missed a few but that's basically the options.

They all look great with those new Iron Cross spinners from Wal Mart! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yantis!! Hey that's up by me, kinda. About 40 miles north or so. I never actually went there as you don't really go through Yantis on your way to any other towns. Welcome aboard, and yes the name might have been a teensy err in judgement.
