Just recently, my girl has had a 401 nailhead dropped into her '54 chevy. Everything looks good except the exhaust looks like it's going to interfere with the steering box. Apparently, we need some kind of front dump exhaust manifold for the driver side. Do front dump manifolds for a 401 exist? Can I switch the right manifold to the left side for an easy fix...?

Thanks in advance for the help.

364 manifolds fit, and they have a front dump. Ask me how I know....

Clarification: The 1959-1960 364c.i. motors with single exhaust have drivers side manifolds that are front dump.

Nailhead in a Chevy, I love it. Any chance it'll be here for the Drags?

AntiChrysler - cool avitar - that's funny! -Can you shoot a picture of that side? You might be able to custom fab some headers eaiser than modifying a cast iron manifold. Or maybey do like those mopar guys and get some crazy pipes going up and out through the fender wells

Fraz got it right, 364 single exhaust manifolds. Should be able to get a set cheap....

Thank you for the replies.

I think I have a line on some 364 Manifolds. If they don't work I'll post some pics and ask for some more advice.
